- The Strange One, by Fred Bodsworth, one of the formative books of my youth at a time of intra-racial conflict where I was born. As I was of mixed race it hit home.

I'm an ex-police officer, retiring after 30 years. I've written all my adult life, and have been published in a number of magazines. I once had 26 unsolicited manuscripts accepted on the trot.
I edited a 7,500+ circulation magazine (gamekeeper turned poacher?) for four years, winning an award, and have written three books, all self published, two doing very well, the third - well, I'm waiting.
I also write search-engine optimised copy, and have been with one client for four years, so must be doing something right. I also write speeches for various occasions, and have taught youngsters to write sufficiently well to get 2:1s at university.
I am a keen rugby union fan. My son is captain of his team in London 1 division.
I dreamed of being a professional writer, and so I'm now living it.Interact
