My name is Kristin Marie and I am a writer. When I was in the first grade that's all I wanted to be. I wrote for pleasure mostly until January of 2007. In December the previous year my uncle died... I fell out of the habit of writing while trying to cope with the death of one of my favorite family members. Then in April of 2007, my brother was killed in action while serving for the US army in Iraq. I fell into a depression after that. I haven't written anything for pleasure in a long time. I try, but the words always seemed hollow, and unreal. Dealing with depression and trying to find my voice again has been an ongoing struggle and I am extremely out of practice in putting the words from my head onto the page. I joined this forum in the hopes of making some new friends, learning some new skills, and regaining my love for this craft.
I have had several short stories and poems printed in local publications and won an award in high school for my writing.
