Throughout my life, I have often been the target of a good laugh.

Here’s why: a few years ago, while at a restaurant with my family, we were reminiscing about when my brother and I were kids. Videogames were on my mind as I was explaining to them the “wonders” of N64 and Mario Bros. All of a sudden, I blurted, “Yeah so Princess Dildo…” – when I really meant to say something along the lines of “Princess Peach”. But the damage was done. And wouldn’t you know it? The whole restaurant went dead quiet at that exact moment I had opened my mouth, as restaurants tend to do when in a collective “lull”. So, you can imagine the rest: laughter, hysterical tears, minutes passing by dropping references to Freudian slips and “wink, wink, nudge, nudges” adding to the tipsy bunch that is my relentlessly sarcastic family.

To this day, I still haven’t figured out how to keep my mouth shut – but I'd like to think that's for the better!
