I'm an Alexandrian Gnostic and a Catboy Science Fiction Writer. My religious view combine Christian Gnosticism, Neo Platonism, Saivism (a Hindu sec) and Orphic Greek Dionysus Elysian Mystery Religion. I write novels in multiple literary genre, however they all retain a kind of science fiction and fantasy twist. My novels resemble Sword and Sorcery, New Wave SF, and 90s and 2000s JRPG and Anime. I have a lot of Japanese Otaku influences in my writing in addition to Western Literary influences.
- Are You Published?:
- Yes, Self-Published
My political views are something more akin to a very Liberalized take on Plato's Philosopher King notion you find in his The Republic. I'm not a huge believer in Democratic principles and I believe Aristocracy (a society ruled by Educated Monarchs) makes far more sense than the American notion of self government. That said, I'm not anti poetry or anti music or against the family unit the way Plato expresses himself in his writing--I simply believe Aristocracy makes more sense. Liberal Monarchy I guess.
I'm a hardcore Hellenophile in addition to my Japanophile influence. My favorite hobbies are Reading and Music. I dislike having to travel or leave the house for any purpose whatsoever. I rarely game anymore, but when I do, it's sort of just so I can temporarily get lost in some kind of Fantasy World while I'm at my desk, and I'm not a Hardcore Gamer by any mean.
I'm kind of xenophobic with strangers and I don't care if this trait might come across as aloof and rude. I'm a Catfolk (ie Cat Person) in my Gnostic Otherkin religious belief system (astral/mental plane); but in terms of RL heritage I'm a German Jew. I view myself as Texan rather than American.
I'm an ardent lover of Poetry and I find it a shame that this literary medium is in such a sharp state of decline. My blog is more of my Writer's Notebook than anything professional. You can check it out if you want, just don't express anything professional--I kind of just use it for reference material for my job as a novelist, and that's about it. I write novels because it's sort of just my trade--like any other job out there really. It's nothing special, it's just a service that I do. I'm hack writing for the gold.
