I'm a dad, husband, grandpa, Navy Vet, and novice poet. I believe that love, compassion, and inclusiveness are fatal to hate, bigotry, and prejudice. I love to write and draw and paint even though I am not very good at it. I try.

I was born in Kansas and served in the Navy during the Vietnam War; thereafter from twenty to my late forties, I roamed this great nation of ours. I had some rough times and some great times as we all do.

I met my beautiful bride on the east coast and after we traveled through the United States for about a year we married in the Midwest. I knew it was for the rest of my life and have never looked back and I thank the powers that be every single day that I was blessed with such a wonderful person to share my later years with. I thought I would be alone for all of my life but instead, I was provided a soul mate as well as a complete family with all the trimmings from son to grandchildren whom I just adore. I would not trade one single adventure or lesson in my life as it has brought me to this day where I can honestly say my life has been very full and is still going like gangbusters and with any grace my wife and I have many years to go together. To quote from an unknown author, “you are exactly where you are supposed to be” and I was at all times. When I die I will easily say I have lived a good life with few regrets.

Politics to me are quite simple; I am first and foremost liberal-minded and when it comes to voting I vote for the right man or woman to do the job. I weigh their abilities, education, professional (political and private sector) experience and ethics (historical and present conduct) pulling from all of their interactions. If they are found to be for the people 100%, honest, moral and upright in their dealings then they are a go. If they run a campaign based on ridicule, slander, and divisiveness or with immoral/unethical conduct then no, they are a non-starter. My views are quite people-oriented in nature and I do not hold with any policy, law, bill, order or regulation that would take a single right from the people excepting those laws and regulations that unduly harm or hinder the people on a wholesale basis, I believe that the people have the last say in all government business and I uphold the Constitution of the United States and its Bill of Rights fully yet I also believe that America must create and make changes to their laws as progress dictates. Finally, I am a popular vote guy vs. Electoral College for obvious reasons. (The government exists to serve the people and operates at the people’s pleasure and on behalf of the people and for the good welfare of the people and safety of the same.)

As to religion, I love and respect all religions for I am a seeker of great variety and truth in life and believe that every religion has a foundation for truth and that no one religion is right or wrong, they are what they are, the individual believer's belief. There are so many beautiful faiths in this vast world of ours that to attach myself to just one faith or belief would deprive me of life lessons and beautiful experiences I would not otherwise know. Why would anyone want to ever do that to themself is beyond me. I have but one condition regarding any religion and that is it must not harm anyone or anything in its practice.

And that concludes my brief and unspectacular bio of just another ordinary old man.

    Signature

Justice, compassion, and equality overcome hate, bigotry, and prejudice.
