Sylvia had remained seated, eating her day old pomegranate as she watched in silence. While many in the group questioned and cursed Bahamut, she sent up a heartfelt prayer that one day they would come to have faith. She just hoped they would before it was too late. For she knew one day, all would bow before Bahamut, whether they wanted to or not.

    And...then, the inevitable happened.

    A fallen in their midst.

    A fallen?

Sylvia nearly choked on her pomegranate kernel. By the time she gained back her breath, the dark figure had disappeared back into its host, leaving her wide-eyed. The host...the man she'd encountered in the store and the captor of the odd creature she'd ridden.

Questions pounded with her oncoming headache. The man hadn't fled; didn't even seemed bothered by the fact a fallen was inside him. How could this be? Thoughts of Francesca soon flooded her mind. She'd never come face to face with the fallen that dwelt within her sister, but she'd seen what it could do.

Francesca's fallen was not so vocal, leaving her mute, save for her screams. She had tried to escape many times and Sylvia had been forced to fight her own sister, whispering encouraging words, hoping they would eventually break through. Even now, she could still see the painful tears in Francesca's blood-shot eyes as control was just beyond her reach. How much she had wanted to cry with her; to hear her sister's voice again.

Not only had the fallen hurt her sister, but strained her family life. Her mother's mind was clearly in the past, her heart hardened. And, since being shunned, her brother worked effortlessly to find work.

Why the Fallen had infiltrated her family, Sylvia couldn't understand. But she vowed that her sister's condition would not last forever. The God-Speaker would heal her, and when she was free, they'd all be free.

Sylvia's cheeks flushed red with anger as she was brought back to reality, still staring at Ishmael. Or was she glaring?

    Bonus read

Joe's mind was deep in thought as he replayed the events that just happened, the tension between the believers and non-believers had escalated, it would surely make this journey, less stable.

"Ishmael really picked a great time and person to show off his fallen to." I thought sighing, I thought about all of the trust and belief issues that would now plague our journey, I had a feeling Jakem, even though being rational, was still a man of faith, would try to save our souls and get us on the 'divine path'.

As he went about his business he felt a tug, at his sleeve. It was Spring roll, she had done it again sneaking up on him like a phantom, with her right hand she grabbed his hand, her blank expression unchanging.

I looked at Spring Roll and sighed as she grabbed my hand. "Do you need something?" I asked, I was still not trusting the little undead girl. It wasn't because of what she was, it was because of who could possibly be pulling her strings, I didn't want to let her know any details of where we were going or the gender of the God Speaker, if everyone were to still believe that she was a man, then the chances of her getting caught would be lowered.

    "......"

She said nothing, but wouldn't let go. I looked at the girl confused. "Why are you just staring at me and holding my hand?" I asked, I had a feeling in the pit of my gut that something bad was going to happen.

    "....."

A minute passed. Spring roll still said nothing, after a moment she closed her eye's, for a moment she looked peaceful as if she had fallen into a blessed sleep. Her hands while soft were cold with the ice of death.

I watched her still confused. "I don't think she's fallen asleep... I don't even know if ghouls can sleep... hm... let's see... why would she be acting this way...? I haven't been particularly friendly to her, so it's not that... maybe she's trying to distract me? But why? There's no reason to, the only things that I have valuable on me are my grimoire, robe, and pendant... Maybe... I remind her of someone that she knew?" I wondered, I didn't know if ghouls could keep any of their old memories.

    "....."

    "............."

"brother, if...we don't hurry, dad will be upset, we must hurry...you know he doesn't like it when we are late for worship..." Her voice suddenly grew tone, it changed rising and falling like that of a living person, she spoke scolding him in a playful voice. "Brother, why are we standing here? we must go...dad will be upset if we..... l...I...we... hey look!...s... g" Her voice faded finally she stopped.

Suddenly she let go of him, her eye's opened and continued to stare off into the distance. All expression that had for a moment resurfaced was gone, as if for a moment she had lived, and died again.

"Wait... if I remind her of her brother... then maybe... maybe I can get the name of her town!" I thought, I looked to Spring Roll, she didn't deserve any of this, if we can find the name of her town, we can find her parents, and then finally put her to rest. "Spring Roll, where's Jakem?" I asked.

"Father is inside." She said coldly, "We do not want him to be late for worship, he will be upset." She said again.

"...Why is she referring to Jakem as 'father'?!" I wondered. "Um... lil' sis, what's our dad's name again? I know it's a strange question and all, but... I took a hit to the head and some details are quite fuzzy to me." I had to be sure.

"Who...hit brother, they will die." Suddenly things got bad, She grabbed her ax and raised it high, it's dark power burst forth, “I will cleave them...all of them...alllof them...all of them." She began repeating the phrase over again and over, she shambled over to the inn door where the others were getting ready. "All of them...for brother."

"W-Whoa, no, I-I did it myself, I accidentally fell off a tree and slammed the back of my head into a rock, that's all, purely my fault, no one else's!" I said quickly. Roll spun on her heel and leapt clear over him, charging forward she brought her ax down on an unfortunate tree, leaving the mighty oak in half. She put her ax away, and walked back to Joes side, she would say no more. Even as he pressed her, the flash of life was gone, possibly, for ever.

"D-Dammit, I didn't get the name... though... she did react to Jakem as 'father'..." I thought, I looked toward the inn. "...It's circumstantial at best... but hey, if I confront him with this then I'll either bring up a horrible part of his past, or I'll look like a complete fool..." I thought, I looked over at the girl. "She looks around 13 years old... I'm not sure how old Hessa or Jakem are, but let's create a theory... Jakem's children were targeted by a powerful necromancer over 30 years ago, he had a son and a daughter, they were kidnapped, both killed and brought back to life by his magic... Jakem goes after said necromancer and manages to defeat him, but it's too late for his kids, distraught over the loss of his daughter and son the necromancer manages to slip away while Jakem is grieving..." I thought.

"...But why would a necromancer kidnap children and use them? Unless... okay... let's try this from a different perspective... a loving father loses both of his children somehow, possibly by an accident. Wanting to bring them back, he takes up the art of necromancy, but he needs similar corpses to work with... so he kidnaps children to experiment on. Before he could even think about using his magic on his beloved children, he would need to create other ghouls, so he manages to preserve both bodies using magic. So... as he kidnaps and experiments on children around their ages, he gets better, he begins to learn the ins and outs of necromancy, and he manages to bring his daughter back as a very powerful ghoul... but then... someone intervenes and stops him from being able to bring his son back, or perhaps his son's body was so damaged that it couldn't be used in the first place... he kidnaps someone and makes them out to be the powerful necromancer, kills them, and then hides the body... that could be one of the only ways that necromancer would have been undetected for so long, he wouldn't just stop after getting caught once." I thought, the theory made sense, if Jakem was the person that defeated necromancer, he could have easily created the illusion of a necromancer, said that he had managed to get away, and no one would ever look deeper into the kidnappings.

I looked at the inn and took a deep breath. "Am I really going to accuse a man of being a powerful necromancer that's been missing for over 30 years?" I wondered, I looked at Spring Roll. "...If he is indeed the necromancer or at the very least the father, then I need him to see reason and finally let his daughter go." I thought, I walked inside of the inn and looked at Jakem. "Hey, can we talk?" I asked.

"Jakem was deep in prayer" When Joe came in, he looked up and smiled, "What is it son?" Jakem said

"...May we discuss this somewhere private, it's about Spring Roll." I said.

"Certainly." Jakem got up and motioned Joe to follow him, outside he lead him to the village well, deserted as there was little water left.

I walked outside and looked at him. "...Apparently Spring Roll had a brother and I reminded her of him, for a minute, it seemed as though she were alive." I said crossing my arms, I could feel my heartbeat quicken. "If he is as powerful as I think he is, he could silence me forever in just a few seconds... but... he can't keep using Spring Roll." I thought, if I were being used in such a way, then I'd want everyone to put an end to my undead self quickly.

Jakems eye's grew wide. "What! then that means..." his eye's shone full of hope, and eagerness, his put his hands on Joes shoulders. and looked at him ecstatically

"Where did say you were from? Perhaps her real brother is somehow related to you."

"...It might be personality or appearance that caused it to trigger, my town probably has nothing to do with her... she said something rather peculiar, when I asked her where you were, she said 'Father is inside, we do not want him to be late for worship, he will be upset.'" I said crossing my arms and getting out of his grip.

Jakem thought for a moment. "Well she has never done that before, this isn't the first time she has done something like this, although it's the first time the reaction has been so strong, the only other time she does something like this is when you give her a spring roll. If you have somehow triggered her memories then.. in time perhaps..." Jakem closed his eye's, silence followed. "Can I ask you a favor? Can you tolerate her presence around you? If she is close to someone like yourself, then perhaps more memories will surface."

Jakem clenched his fist, "And then we can punish the bastartd who did this to her, and put her to rest."

"...Jakem... how old are you and Hessa?" I asked, if he answered anything that couldn't work in my timeline then I'd have to let it go, I could probably keep my theory alive if at the time Hessa would still only be round 3 or 4 when the incident occurred, she wouldn't be able to remember anything about having siblings.

"Hessa is about 25, I am in my 80's why?" He asked eye brows raised

"...I have a theory... you said that necromancer you guys nearly caught escaped thirty years ago, yes?" I asked tilting my head.

"Yes thats true. On the day he was to die. He escaped."

"...Who was it that witnessed this man?" I asked crossing my arms.

"You mean who saw him escape? no one, they went to his cell one day and he wasn't there." Jakem sighed.

"...No, I asked, did anyone witness him? Did they see him, how he was acting before, during, and after his capture until the day that he 'escaped'?" I asked, I had another theory if someone did see him other than Jakem. "Also, what was he acting like and what was the condition of the cell when he was discovered missing?" I asked.

"Oh my, I am an old man, I don't remember those details, the mad man was only concerned about his prized creation, I remember that. But it was 30 years ago, details are fuzzy, why are you asking me all these questions?" Jakem asked.

"My theory of course, first... we need to focus on the heart of our necromancer, why only go after children? Why not go after adults? They're stronger after all, more durable than a child, sure there would be some hesitation going after a child that is a ghoul, but there are no other benefits." I said, I began pacing back and forth. "Then, why put all of that work into creating a powerful ghoul that is still slightly intelligent and won't decay?" I said, I turned to face Jakem. "The answer is simple, when you lose a loved one, especially your own child, you'd do anything to get them back, the reason why he was so worried about Spring Roll wasn't because it was his prized creation... it was because it was his daughter." I said.

Jakem pondered this. "Maybe, maybe, but we can't know for sure, whatever the truth, it lies within Spring roll her self. And, I fear, only you can get it out of her. Alas,we must be going now, the God speaker awaits, perhaps she will shed some light on this." With that Jakem began to head inside, as he opened the door to the inn, he found Spring roll standing there staring at him. He smiled at her, and as he walked past patted her on the head.

"You be good Spring Roll, that's a girl." and with that he went inside.

"D-Damn, he didn't allow me to finish... he's in his eighties, Hessa's twenty five, he'd easily would have been able to have had two kids before then... if I'm right about the necromancer being her father, then he would have certainly tried to get her back by now, or tried to exact revenge upon Jakem and everyone else that had imprisoned him... if multiple people witnessed him... perhaps it was a slightly advanced ghoul, the culprit let him out of his cell, and then disposed of him... how many people know of Spring Roll's existence and get to see her on a daily basis?" I wondered, I sighed quietly. "...Perhaps I should look at it from another perspective... maybe... her brother had something to do with it... she was very defensive about me, maybe somehow defending her brother, it led to her death, grief stricken and guilty, he began researching necromancy, digging into it's depths to try to bring his sister back... hm... those are the two most likely scenarios, unless Spring Roll was merely the first one he tried it to do it to and successfully did it..." I thought, I sighed and walked back inside.

It suddenly accurde to Joe, that he didn’t know anything about Jakem, none of them did, why did he want the prophet? “There is a serious lack of trust here, he thought.”

The evening grew late, it was soon time to get some shut eye, the road tomorrow would be long, and dangerous. So many people, so little trust, could they survive the rest of the journey like this?

soon everyone slept, all save two, Tusbeal who stood out side the inn, and Spring roll who stood outside Joes door, and repeated to her self, in a haunting tone "brother, if...we don't hurry, dad will be upset, we must hurry...you know he doesn't like it when we are late for worship..." Over, and over again, long into the night.

This situation with the demon somehow managed to resolve itself, miraculously without anyone getting significantly hurt, and upon the withdrawal of Samael, everyone either left the building or went to their rooms for the evening. Over in the corner, a strange male whom Millaria did not know the name of watched over the hall with the look of a predator and a conceited grin. The male then suddenly locked eyes with Millaria and after a brief moment called out:

"Hey plant girl come over here!"

Millaria promptly left the isolation in the center of the room and strode up to within a comfortable distance of the man, and, holding her two pairs of arms behind her back, addressed the man:

"My name is Millaria of the Grove, by what name are you called?"

She spoke to the man in a normal tone as she always would, unphased while she watched his eyes crawl all up and down her delicate naked body.

"Hiddan, man it's always a treat to see an Ifrit, you all have such colorful looks to ya, joining our merry band of misfits are we?" Hiddan chuckled. "Well if it's the God speaker your after, then you have come to the right place."

    Altair

Altair had been enjoying the sunset when the roof of the inn had been blown off. He sighed in exasperation and quickly buckled on his armor before going back inside.

By the time he arrived, the fighting had stopped, and he stood off to the side listening to the conversation. An undead and a plant ifrit had arrived, oh and Ishmael was host to a fallen. None of this was earth shattering to Altair. He would have preferred to avoid the company of a fallen, but Ishmael's prowess as a fighter and insistence about pens seemed to be considerable assets... Well, at least his prowess as a fighter.

If the Spinx's pyramid had been any indication, going would not be easy.

Walking over to Ishmael, Altair looked him in the eye.

"I will overlook whatever you have within you... As long as it doesn't interfere with my goals," he said. "And I suggest to the rest of you to do the same. For now, all of us have the same purpose..."

Then he went over to Hessa and quietly said, "May I speak with you, somewhere privately?"

How can I trust people like them.

These thoughts swam through the mind of Kyra who rested against a wall.

Many things already made no sense for it. Why doesn’t it remember anything of what happened at the pyramid…. What is that thing that appeared in that realistic dream… Will really be of worth to find the God Speaker… What is the Bahamut in real…

That man and that woman would kill anyone that is deviated from the path of their ridiculous religion… Such level of intolerance is stupid….

It touched its whole face with the palm of its hand in deep thought….

Maybe I should come back…. This is not even a task for someone like me…. Yet if I come back I’ll lost my any chance to understand who am I……… However…. I really doubt the God Speaker could grant such miracle…

    If you come back… you’ll regret it…

"Huh?... what was that?" Said Kyra without hiding its voice. Yet it stopped and calmed…

That voice… fell as if it come from inside my brain… I don’t get it, does it have relationship with that dream?..

    What’s going on with me….

One thing is sure though…. I can’t come back… it’s not only my memories…. That thing of the dream scares me… What if its released…. Someone would get hurt and then……..

Kyra opened its eyes as a sudden realization came to its mind, such strong revelation that a stream of a tear fell from its right eye..

…”That thing… would hurt someone huh?............ Did I…. Did I really was the one who killed her?...”

Up to this time Kyra had been comforted by the words of Adel that stated firmly that it was impossible for it to had commited the crime that night…. Yet if it truly had something inside of it with such a thirst for blood…. There is a good chance that in real Kyra killed that person and disposed of its body….

“No… no… it can’t be like that…..” said waving its head and covering its face out of shame…..

    “I…I can’t accept that……”

After briefly indulging himself, the man brought his eyes up to meet Millarias and answered her question.

"Hiddan, man it's always a treat to see an Ifrit, you all have such colorful looks to ya, joining our merry band of misfits are we?" Hiddan chuckled. "Well if it's the God speaker your after, then you have come to the right place."

“I am pleased that you say so, although I did not imagine my instincts would lead me into the company of such disharmony.” Millaria responded “Are your companions always this narcissistic and confrontational?”

"We barely know each other, the world is gonna die, and we are forced to go on a life threatening journey in search of a man who may or may not help us, you expected us to be skipping and singing along? I'm surprised we get along as well as we do, in the end everyone is in it for them selfs, I'm sure you are too." Hiddan said with a shrug. "we are working together only because it benefits us all."

"You seem to be distant, did anyone tell you that?"

"I hear it frequently. My thoughts are not here, I will admit that. My thoughts, no, my very soul is with my family. And the only way that I can help them is by finding the Godspeaker," he said. "To that end, I am willing to do whatever it takes to find her. And that includes traveling with a damn fallen and a soul doll."

"I simply want to understand that... My aim in life is to find the Godspeaker and liberate my family. And until then, I am totally devoted to this path..."

If he could get Hessa to trust him, it would make things much easier in the long run.

"We are all devoted to finding her, even the fallen, what I'm worried about is what will happen when we do find her. What will the fallen do? what if she doesn't fofill our requests? what if she finds us unworthy? How do we trust her with all these...abominations, heathens, and atheists?"

Hessa sighed. "Do you want to know why I'm searching for her?"

Altair looked at the darkening sky. "Your reasons are you own, I will not pressure you to tell me. I told you mine so that you would understand why I am here... But something to consider, daughter of the high priest... If Bahamut does care, and has chosen a new God Speaker, then his will will be accomplished regardless of out meddling. If he does not care, then none of this matters anyway..." Altair said. While his faith may have been shaken, he still believed in Bahamut, though perhaps not that he actually cared.

"Why then does bahamut tell us to do good or evil? or why does her ordain priests and god speakers? his will maybe made known, but perhaps it's execution depends on us, whether it happens may yet be in human hands, that's why...that's why I am a battle priest. To do his will is my calling."

She looked out at the desert. "Oh god...I sound like my father." She shook her head. She then gazed upon Altiar, out of all the people here his need was most noble.

"Altiar, I hope you save your family, if you where afriad I thought you an enemy then fear not. I will gladly help you save them, if the God speaker is...unable, or unwilling."

"Thank you," he replied. "And if you still cling to faith, cling to it with everything you have..." Altair said. "But it's getting late. We should all probably rest for the journey tomorrow," he said, and then headed off to find somewhere quiet to sleep for the night. Bahamut and his ways pushed from his mind, he only thought of the Godspeaker and how he grew ever closer to getting his family back.

    ‘How unfortunate’ Millaria thought, frowing.

“I appreciate your candor, Hidan, I do not think I have met anyone in my travels as transparent as you. However, I would not presume to judge your intentions, they will unravel eventually and so will mine. And you may be right, maybe we are only working together out of convenience, and if that is the way it has to be, so be it.”

Millaria finished with a sincere smile. The room was almost completely empty, save for a few other members of the party. She then turned back to Hidan.

“Thank you for your cordiality, Hidan, but perhaps it is time for me to rest, I will have to make acquaintances with the rest of your ‘misfits’ in the morning.”

She then took a half step backward and waited a brief moment out of courtesy to let him say something else, only to have his gaze slither up and down her profile. After an exchange of a nod and a curt smile, Millaria left the establishment. She walked across town, through the narrow streets and ugly buildings, until she came upon her companion.

A skinny tree, grey and hard as stone, stood six feet tall in the middle of a vacant lot, its spidery branches covered in broad, thin leaves. The oddity got the attention of many of the passersby, and ignoring them Millaria walked towards the tree and sat up against it, wrapping her tendrils around it and fusing with its bark. Sleep took her immediately, and yet she remained aware, as her companion watched over her.

Ketka had told herself when she went into the tavern that she would just wet her mouth and then after a mug or two she would stop. The problem with Ketka was that she didn’t listen to anyone, herself included. Ketka took her mug to a quiet table where the shadows were thick and rested there watching what went on around her.

Ketka took the time to feed on the shadows as all Jahauwan need to once in a while. It was best do to this in her natural form to get the most from the darkness, but Ketka had no interest in changing into her other self.

For the first time since their departure on this journey Ketka wondered about the motivations of the others in the group. Was she the only creature that fought to forget? Surely others here sought revenge, she could not be the only one to feel such things.

Ketka drew her mug to her lips and sipped at the amber liquid within before humming.

“Doth he speak of rain which falls burning the heads of young and old. And in which the clouds a-sighing.”

Ketka paused watching several men pass her table. She pushed her drink away from herself and slumped down in her chair.

The day was young as they went on their way, the sandy desert slowly giving way. Beyond the village loose grains were slowly being replaced with rock and bare ground. Large mountains rose in the distance, and smaller mountains flanked them to the side creating a small rocky valley to walk through.

"Fang pass is up ahead." Jakem stated, "the ferral there aren't friendly to humans, and even less friendly to Ifrit, be on guard." The sky was overcast, teasing them with the false promise of rain, Hessa and Aly were training in the back, the poor Fairy was force to run laps around the group, seeing the awkward little girl using her legs so much drew a chuckle out of Hiddan.

Spring Roll was beside Joe again, she seemed to follow him around like a lost puppy though she had ceased saying anything. By midday Aly was finally given a break, so tired from the intense training that she had fallen asleep, and was being carried by Hessa on her back.

"She's so light, goodness I could throw her." She chuckled. The hike was getting harder, the land began to turn every so slightly vertical and the rocks beneath their feet was becoming more unstable, more loose. After some time walking they reached the top of one of the stone hills, behind them the sleepy town was a dot in the distance, and before them, a battle raged. Three ferrals, out numbered faced off against 5 humans, one a mage. Around them the bodies of other Ferrals lay burned and charred. The humans attacked.

Three of them charged forward brandishing exotic weapons, the two at the back began to weave. The three ferrals bolted forward, one pounced knocking the first humans to the ground, before crunching on his face, A bright flash of light, and a giant flame crashes into the Ferral on top of him, burning the poor creature alive. The two left, still out numbered attacked anyway, one was plain the other striped, and the fierceness of their battle was unmatched. The striped one took on two human warriors at once, breaking one leg with a swipe of his strong tail, the other avoiding another blast of fire, disemboweled the unfortunate mage before being thrown bay an arc of lightening.

they watched the battle from a distance, Jakem seemed to get annoyed. "Anyone feel like getting involved? Didn't think so, but they are blocking the quickest path to heavens gate mountian. Shall we go around?"

"This is awfully close to fang pass for humans to be fighting feral. This is worrying, what if the beasts take this as a threat? The last thing we want is a war." Hessa said, putting down the slowly waking Aly.

"Lets worry about getting the rain back first." Jakem responded. "What do you say, around or straight though?"

"If we go straight through we'll have to pick a side, but we'll save time, or we'll have to go through a lot of Ferral, if we go around then we'll remain neutral, but it'll take longer and we'll have to use more of our resources, but the Ferral might just believe that we're a part of that group and still try to kill us, so either way the outcome won't be pretty." I said crossing my arms.

"I think we should leave this choice to Hessa." Ishmael spoke up. "Based on her appearance she's clearly struggled with straight and around for years. This could really help her." He said with a smile at the warrior girl. Payback for those dirty looks she kept giving him.

He looked thoughtful after that as he examined their options. "I say we should go straight don't you think Joestar? I mean I'd prefer to try not getting involved in Feral conflict. But at least if it comes down to it we can ally with one side which could give us protection and maybe even help us in the long run. Plus as you said the long way will drain our resources."

"What about you Samael?" Ishmael asked. No longer speaking within his head.

The shadow appeared behind him and started to speak. "I shall defer from this my host. Both sides are dangerous. This is simply a method of picking your poison." The shadow once again faded away after that.

Ishmael blinked. "Alright, what you guys think?"

Illudes stared at the conflicting humans and feral warily, but the wind had changed and a strange scent filled his nostrils. Head whipping around, he looked back towards the desert to see a line of Camels plodding away from them. Eyes narrowing, he could just make out three men and a smaller figure; the smaller one kicking and struggling against a line that tied it to the rear camel.

What the... then he recognized the scent and his feathers slowly rose on end, eyes widening in alarm.

Me. It smells like I am. But why...? he thought, but a brief flicker of an old memory robbed him of his senses for a moment.

    Blood, pain.

    Slavers, yelling.

A tiny face staring at him with huge eyes as blue as the sky.

Before he could control himself, an animal growl burst from his chest and he dashed off at top speed towards the quickly retreating caravan. His claws extended, and his lean, thin body only gave him even more speed as he ate up the ground with huge bounds.

    "LET HER GO!" he bellowed.

Ishmael said. My eyes widened as he said my last name. "...W-Where the hell did you learn my last name!?" I asked angrily, I didn't want anyone to know it, I absolutely hated the nickname that I got because of that name, just because of my parent's poor decision making I'll be plagued with the nickname 'Jojo' forever, before I could go off on him, I saw Illudes run toward the caravan. "...Well it looks like he made our decision for us." I said, I ran after him, hoping that this would be enough of a distraction for everyone to forget what Ishmael had said.

The slavers looked up, alarmed when they noticed Illudes streaking towards them.

"Lemme go lemme go lemme go go go!" the tiny bundle of fur screeched, digging her bound claws into the sand, but unable to cut the ropes. Ugly scars lacerated the tiny creature's back, her light brown feathers standing in unruly clumps as her pale blue eyes gazed sightlessly around, a scar across her face answering the question of how the tiny child had been blinded.

When the slaver raised a whip and lashed out in the girl's direction, Illudes bellowed and flung himself in it's path, the line carving a deep welt across his shoulder and chest. The camels halted, snorting, and the creature stood, gripping the whip's end, dark eyes blazing. His lips had curled back to reveal hooked fangs, and his claws slowly extended.

"Cut her free." he told Joe with an oddly commanding voice, not once looking away from the slavers, who had begun to start shouting at each other and draw short swords. The tiny girl was sobbing and curled up in a tiny ball in the sand, blood streaking down her face like tears.

    "They are mine."

"Hey you can't just run away. You're my prisoner!" Ishmael said as he caught up to. Illudes and Joe.

Which had been quite the clever to distraction from Joe's question.

But still things had picked up quite a bit. The lancer paused once he saw the odd looking fur ball whom was tied up and beaten.

His eyebrows raised at this and he looked at Joe and the now violent Illiudes. "Did I miss something?" He asked

Izzy was trying to piece together any possible reason as to why Illudes had charged off to save this thing.....this very adorable looking thing.

    Then hit him.

AH HA! Its mating season for man bird chicken things! "Do not fear Illudes you can win her over yet!"

Jakem cringed at Illudes yell, suddenly the Feral looked up and spotted them, he had just finished off the last human, with a snarl he dashed off towards Fang pass.

"Well that's just perfect, now they know we're here. Illudes why are you yelling?" Illudes had already dashed off.

"We don't have time for this."Hessa sneered and now Joe gone too. Jakem started towards fang pass, "I'll scout ahead, Spring roll go see what Illudes up to, the rest of us should really push on."

Spring rolled nodded and ran after the two, when she reached them she asset the situation. "Brother...shall I kill them? Shall I kill the slavers?" she asked.

Tch... as I supposed, these two don't care about others at all... Thought Kyra after hearing Hessa and Jakem.

I shouldn't be messing into this.... but I just feel like taking the contrary to them... thought and then it run to were Ishmael, Joe and Illudes were.

"Well... haven't been revealed ourselves?." said with a smile.. "Oh well it doesn't matter, anyway a fourth one run to where the slaves are, I would seriously consider to free them if I were you" a menacing tone that didn't match that smile at all showed in Kyra's face.

Oh... Illudes huh?.... he is an interesting one...

"Huh?..." said Kyra suddenly atonished, it had heard that voice inside of it again.

Doesn't matter... to free the slaves is of importance now...

"Kill them. None shall live for what they have done to my sister!" Illudes hissed, lunging for the first man, who squealed before his throat was slashed, then fell to the ground gurgling his last breath.

He fell upon the slavers like a sandstorm. One second he was on the ground, the next on a man, hacking, slashing, biting. His fury knew no bounds, and a deep, throaty growl was constantly heard emanating from his chest.

When he'd finally stopped, only two men remained, standing back to back, eyes huge as they spat curses at him in their native tongue. Illudes hissed, but backed up, coiling in on himself like a cat about to spring.

"Go waeeeeeeeee go aweeeeeee!" the pitiful mewl had him snapping to of his stupor, and he leapt to the tiny young-ling's side, snapping the rope and scooping her up. She was startled at first, but the moment her face met his feathered chest and she inhaled his scent she went completely limp.

    "Brudda... Illudes...." she whimpered.

"Kill the rest of them." Illudes told Spring roll. "I don't care how you go about doing it. Just make it painful!"

Ishmael's white lance hummed with Adra and he screamed. "FAST THROWING SPEAR ATTACK THINGY!"

And suddenly he threw the lance like a spear at one of the slavers. The transparent nox wings and adra once again serving as a boost in its already deadly speed.

The lance went through the man's skull very cleanly and he fell to the ground.

    Blood decorating the surrounding area.

"Do not fear Illudes you can win her over yet!" Ishmael said. I looked at him for a second. "You're an idiot." I said merely said as I rushed toward the bundle at Illudes behest, I pulled out a dagger, something that I had taken from the merchant's stall, I had left how much I believed it cost though... only ten scales, I knelt down. "Don't worry, we'll get you out of there." I said. "Brother...shall I kill them? Shall I kill the slavers?" she asked. I looked at Spring Roll. "Give me some cover and help Illudes while I cut these ropes, god I hope the man at least sharpened these." I said, I quickly began cutting the creature free as carefully as possible.

Ishmael flipped down from his standing position.

    "You're an idiot."

Ishmael frowned as he walked up to the dead man and pulled his lance from his skull. "A bit of a rude thing to say don't you think?" Izzy asked. "I mean we are just helping chicken boy free this little thing because he wants to mate right? I mean what else what an animal want.......unless that little poof ball is food to whatever chicken man is."

"Its someone he knows." Samael said appearing.

Ishmael cocked his head and flicked the blood from his lance. "You think? Chicken boy doesn't seem like the family type."
