I was going to ask if this was legitimate or not.

There's an excellent documentary on USA Netflix called The Price of Gold (part of the ESPN 30 for 30 series) that chronicles the events surrounding the feud with Harding and Nancy Kerrigan. I highly recommend it, even if you have next to no interest whatsoever in figure skating.

 

I have a character named Unnamed. She's a goddess and since all the other gods and goddesses have names, she doesn't need to, they can just refer to her as Unnamed.

Because it's fun. And when you're making up your own world, even if it mimics the real one, there's a real urge to populate it.

 

Your story has fantasy elements, right? But is it set in a fantasy version of this earth or in its own world?

That'll make a difference for surnames.

 

Actually I set it as Earth set in the future. Magic was discovered and created a world war 3. The setting is after the war finished and new nations have risen from the ashes of a former world. Not every is capable of preforming magic. Some of then use technology as a substitute.


If I want to test surnames with you guys. Is there a thread for that? Or just make one?

I find this site to be extremely helpful in creating all sorts of names. You can even take what they list, scramble them up, and create more possibilities.

Gawler, are you by any chance writing the new Marvel superhero movie, Thor 3?

 

Nothing of the sort, I would not want to be associated with their version in any shape or form. Unlike them I am trying to keep the personalities of the Norse gods as close to the descriptions in the eddas as possible. There will not be a situation of an African American playing the whitest of the gods! It has a huge twist that Marvel would not touch with a barge pole.

Eir is actually the main god in the story and Loki's adversary is Heimdall

My current WIP is an action thriller (hopefully the first of a series) tentatively titled The Nanny Files: OPERATION- Whiteout. Hopefully I'll be able to figure out a better title as I start writing the first draft, I'm in the plotting/planning stage right now, and I have slightly more pressing things to think about. The story takes place in the present day, and revolves around a bodyguard agency that specializes in protecting children. There are a ton of characters that will hopefully come into play in later books, but here's the tentative cast list for OPERATION- Whiteout:
