    Shango

Shango was not so caught up in his broiling emotions that he did not noticed Evan and Mex rolling their eyes. He turned to face them, his glowing red staff gripped in both his hands horizontally, the block position. He was not frowning and his face was not contorted into a scowl; his features were smooth set like stone. The only thing that showed his anger was his trembling hands, the glowing staff and the dark pits of his eyes.

"If there is a problem with me telling Caleb not to encourage the Bard to sing," Shango said slowly, "then I would rather my comrades speak on it, instead of being passive aggressive. I simply do not want the girl's singing to blow our chances of getting out of here. Saorla already started her crying; the mutineers could hear her and foil our escape. And, horror of horrors, imagine if she threw up on us again?"

Shango's voice had started slow and steady, but as he progressed it got tenser, more passionate. At the end, he just cut off and turned stiffly back to the cage door. He shook his head slightly, his braids swinging exuberantly. "Why do I even bother?" he grumbled to himself. "I'm just an attraction to these people, a side show. Of course they would not take me seriously. Of course the one concern I voice, ever, is just silliness and unimportant and not worthy of verbalization..." He took another deep breath and stared ahead, brooding darkly.

    Syl sighed.

"Let it be known I am not in support of dividing our already outnumbered group into two parties," she said calmly. "But, if we must do this, let us do it quickly, please. The element of surprise slips further away with every passing moment. Five of the mutineers are already dead or incapacitated, thanks to our new friends," she gestured to Pac and Tango, "so the longer we stand here discussing the matter, the greater the chance of this being discovered."

She paused, took a deep breath, and continued. "I believe three for the passenger cabin team is enough. Joe, Evan, and Max will search the rooms. The rest of us will take the quartermaster's cabin, which is, in my humble opinion, the more important task. We can return to our rooms, or any other room you'd like, after we've taken the ship. It's not as if the enemy has thrown our belongings overboard."

She turned to the Bard. "And one more thing," Syl said before she snatched the spoon from the girl and began twisting its head until the metal became brittle and snapped off, leaving a jagged edge where the scoop had been. "The proper way to wield a spoon is to not wield a spoon at all," she said as she snatched the girl's hand, slapped the crude shank into her palm, and shut the Bard's fingers around it. "Hmph, even a child could've figured that out, darling. You wouldn't last a day in prison."

I look towards Joe with a sigh. "Well that is a plan that could work well. After all either way we'd be getting our gear." I look to the knives I was given. "You'll need another person on the passenger's side and I can help take out any hindrances that we may come across if we do. Wouldn't want you going on your own anyways unless you'd like to be murdered immediately with no gear. But since I am assuming no, that plan is looking good to me."

    Our heroes split up

The group tip toed out of the brig onto a stairwell, which ascended upwards a few steps before turning back on itself, going up into the main part of the hull. Tango's work was on display for all to see with the five pirates bound by the wrist and mouths filled with rags, knocked out cold yet neatly sat on their chairs, a silent ruse to anyone that looked down into the Brig.

The heroes moved the pirates into the jail, careful not to wake their former guards or slip on any vomit for that matter. After a night untouched it had curdled into a thick vomit custard, and one could only wonder what The Bard had eaten and the quantities consumed. The smell worse than death was enough to rouse the pirates and they could only protest in silence, their eyes shouting of the disgusting horror surrounding them. A simple mercy was given; Vedelo bashed them all across the side of the head, knocking them out cold once more.

So the heroes ascended, climbing the stairs slowly, one by one. The storm was so loud outside that it was difficult for anyone to hear them, but on the other hand it was difficult for them to hear anyone else on board. For all they knew the rest of the pirates were waiting in ambush, ready to strike from behind that barrel or from over the large mess hall table. The heroes moved in, weapons raised. The rain thundered down from outside, spilling onto the wooden window sills. The single candle flickered. Shadows twisting menacingly.

They waited for a time, all quietly crouching around the mess table and spying out any potential opening that could be exploited. These pirates were sneaky bastards and their callous and underhanded tactics gave them an edge when you couldn't see them. Only when the lightning crackled again did the heroes move, splitting into two groups to cover more ground, the smaller group scouting through the rooms while the larger group moved towards the Quartermaster cabin.

Joe, Nylthia, Evan and Max trapsed through the narrow corridors in the dark, their hands outstretched as the Kamela tossed too and fro, and they crept around the corner to find a single begrudged pirate patrolling the passageways. He turned his head over his shoulder with a snarl, but saw nothing behind. He paused, breathing out like a aggravated bull. Then he shrugged and moved on. Little known to him was the fact that Joe, Nylthia, Evan and Max had just got back around the corner in time to hide. Tired, weary and without any weapons, the faced a tense situation to search the rooms without being seen.

The rest of the group had headed upwards another level towards the Quartermaster's Cabin. There was more light this way, with what little from the outside storm outshined by the rusty lamps hanging from the walls. There were three rooms between them and the Quartermaster's Cabin, and the heroes could hear voices just outside their goal.

"Pair of Threes." One voice said with satisfaction.

"Pair of Sixes. Give us y'ur money." Another snarled.

"Flesher' killing it tonight." A third voice chimed in, followed by a fourth, which was a little dismayed, "he's always killing it."

While the rest of the group waited in silence, Caleb slowly snuck towards the room to get a good view of four pirates playing cards. They were playing on a table right between the heroes and the Quartermaster's Cabin.

Caleb studied the behavior of the pirates, he quickly analyzed the situation and determinate their group had possibilities to beat them. Hidden within the darkness he readied his arm-blade and adopted a stance, he would jump over them and try to bring down one at least… However.

What if more men arrived due to the ruckus? Come to think, were they the only ones in guard in this area? He certainly couldn’t find more, but he had lived enough dire situations to not let his guard fall so easily.

So we got to move them without making them realize we are here…. Thought, actually formed those words within his mind instead of talking them, perhaps because he was trying to keep the most silence he could.

    He looked at the celling…

That could work…. No one likes to play cards like that anyway.

He pressed his arm against the nearest wall, he knew it could get stuck due to the low temperature however, because he knew it, he raised his own temperature to prevent that. Besides, they weren't in the 3rd level, so it shouldn't be that cold.

The water filtered through the wood’s gaps and quickly traveled, his whole forearm was now part of the wall and moved to the ceiling placing it right above the table and the pirate’s heads.

A drip of water was first, then two, then more consecutively, slowly several drips were falling upon the table, the cards and the pirates heads. Caleb used his arm to simulate a small leak of water in the ceiling above the pirates.

If we’re lucky, they’ll rather move to play elsewhere… wet cards aren’t funny after all.

    Shango

Shango watched silently, his body flattened against the wall to remain unseen, as Caleb simulated a leak over the guard's table. Shango was fuming silently. How could they play cards so nonchalantly after killing a man in cold blood, their own captain? It made Shango sick to his core.

In his right hand, Shango still held the makeshift staff Syl had given him. It had stopped glowing bright red but it was still very hot to the touch. With his left hand, Shango began flexing his fingers over and over. The wind rustled softly around the whole group as it came to him, winding into a tight ball in the palm of his hand. Shango was calling the wind to him, not to use it right now, but in case Caleb's little plan didn't work and they needed to defend themselves.

The wind-ball in his hand looked like a sphere of swirling gray mist, growing in size until it was bigger than a human skull. As Shango worked his Air magic, his staff suddenly cooled down. But no one knew because they weren't touching the staff.

The water fell, dripping at first but soon it began to gush, an open wound on the Kamela, which started to drown the pirates' table and cards. Alarmed, they all stood at once blocking their faces from the mini waterfall, when one of them noticed something odd.

"Flesher?" Slinky Jim said, eyes narrowing on Flesher, "You got... cards."

Sure enough, strapped to Flesher's wrist, there were three or four pairs of cards, which were normally concealed under his linen cloth sleeves, but the drenching water had made it see through.

"You cheatin' bastard!" Farrot shouted, turning over the table and they all pulled their swords, three of them versus one. Flesher, though the biggest of the group, was a little wide eyed and watched carefully as their rapiers slowly glanced off each other's with a nervous ting. They stood there, eyeing each other up, waiting for the first man to strike.

    Shango

Shango saw their chance and he wasn't going to waste it. As the pirates began arguing over their card game, Shango turned to the others in his group and hissed in a whisper, "I'm going to try to suck all the air out of the room, and then we can all barge in and attack. Once you're inside, I'll come in behind you and create a sound barrier so the other pirates can't hear us fighting."

That said, Shango lifted the hand holding the swirling wind-ball and let the wind-ball float up to the ceiling. He did not need it right now, but if more pirates somehow heard the fighting and came running down the hall then he could call on the wind-ball to help fend them off. Then he turned toward the quarreling pirates and inhaled deeply through pursed lips for an impossibly long amount of time and began sucking all the air out of the room.

    MEEK
Meek stood behind the rest of the group. She unfurled her cloak and lifted the hood over her head. Suddenly, it was as if she wasn't there, her body now blended into the enviroment. This cloak was the most useful item she'd ever gotten. It had been enchanted to blend into anything she chose. She'd had no need to use it before now. With daggers in hand, she waited with a sly smile on her face. Those Pirates had no idea what they were in for.

The Bard snorted at Meek. “Really?” She said. “Dwarf, do you honestly think a cloak is going to do them any harm?” The Bard gave a silent chuckle and thankfully her annoying voice didn't seep through. "I mean you're already short enough that they won't see you coming."

The Bard pulled her hood over her pigtails and readied her spoon but narrowed her eyes at Syl. "Grouchy pants, I require a better weapon then this broken spoon. If those men see me out of the cell they will surely be all over me......surely."

A wolfish grin showed on her face and she assumed her dramatic pose. "Oh....deary me, I may have just have to let out a scream and alert those pirates if I am not giving a proper weapon." The Bard coughed. "Something good." She coughed again. "Hurry it up."

    Syl Nerrier

The tension was impossibly thick as the captives waited for their chance to strike at the cardplaying pirates. Syl stood calmly, peeking around the edge of the doorframe, ready to strike at a moment’s notice.

Then, the Bard spoke. The bard. That damned BARD.

Syl let the girl finish. In many countries, it is considered a great offense to not let a man have his last words before dying. So, Syl let her finish. Then, when the girl was done, the Sun Elf sighed and took her parasol in two hands.

The device parted, as smoothly and quietly as a snake sliding from its hole, revealing a slender, single-edged blade, as thin as a needle and as long as… well, long enough to run a foolish little girl through. In one smooth motion, its tip was leveled with the Bard’s throat, the source of so much bile and filth.

“Scream,” Syl said, her eyes as cold as the depths of the ocean and twice as unforgiving. “Go on. Give me a reason. I already have so many. What’s one more?”

The sound of water dribbling to the floor was heard and this time it wasn’t Caleb, the smell of fresh urine filled the nostrils of the group. The Bard's face went ghost pale. "W...w...was just a joke." She stuttered.

    DON'T SCREAM!

    DON'T SCREAM!

Her eyes were wide but no tears fell, only pure terror at the knife to her throat and Syl's cold eyes. The Bard dare not even breath wrong or it would mean certain....a new weapon would of been nice. "M..m...may I have a more appropriate weapon mam." She whispered her voice shaken.

The Bard swallowed a puddle of shame now on the floor. "I....ju...just would of liked a better way of defending myself...." She said before fear took hold of her again and her eyes shut and the redhead fell sideways passing out.

The self-proclaimed bard fell to the ground. Meek threw her hands in the air, praising all the gods. "Thankyou, Divines! Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou for sweet silence." She grinned. "Don't suppose we can leave her?"

    Shango

Shango was not distracted by the Bard's antics, he was totally focused on what he was doing. He breathed in continuously, trying to suck all the air out o the quartermaster's cabin, when he heard the four pirates started coughing and spluttering. It's working! he thought, but then the pirates ran out of the room into another room, the room directly adjacent to Shango and his companions.

"At least there's only three pirates now," Shango whispered when he stopped inhaling. One of the three pirates had killed Flesher with a ruthless sword thrust through the heart and Flesher lay amid a scattering of playing cards, blood oozing out of his fatal wound. Strangely, Shango felt now emotion at the gruesome sight.

"Anyone else got any ideas?" Shango asked the group, but mainly his gaze was focused on Syl. As Shango waited for a reply, they could all hear the pirates muttering suspiciously and telling each other to keep an eye out for any more weird stuff.

The pirates stepped out into the small cargo room, filled with different sized crates that hid away the light. The heroes could just spy the silhouettes of the pirates in front of the lantern, three men dark and brooding with their rapiers vanishing and reappearing in the faint light.

    "See anything?" Slinky Jim whispers.

"Not yet." One of the others said. "Maybe we shoud'na stuck Flesher..."

Slinky Jim spat, "Shut it. That bastard cheated and got wot was coming to 'im. We can handle anything little shit hiding out here."

Slowly they surveyed the area checking behind crates and pulling up sheet covered boxes, moving nets and rummaging through luggage. But soon they turned together and focused their attention on the next room...

Meek's ears peek up as the sound of pirates pushing their way towards the room gets louder. They needed to make a move, and soon. She hurried over to Syl, the sun elf who used that damned magic to make weapons. But so far, out of the group, she seemed to be the only person with a firm head on her shoulders.

"Hey, elf. We need to move now if we're gonna take them down. You got a plan? If not, I do."

“Done,” Syl said, speaking quickly, which she almost never did. "Three approaching. I’ll take the left, you take the right. You,” she briefly made eye contact with Vedelo, “down the middle. And you,” she glanced at Shango for a millisecond, “deaden the sound once we’re in. I don’t care how. And you,” she pointed to the archer, “you’re the finisher.”

Without waiting for any confirmation or discussion, Syl charged out, with absolute faith that each of them would play their part. The pirates were already upon them, mere feet from the room they were hiding in. Quick, clean, and quiet, were the only three words on her mind. She couldn’t be faster than the speed of sound, but surely she could outpace these sluggish brutes.

She covered the span in what seemed an impossibly short amount of time. Two long steps and she was there, with the tip of her rapier in the neck of the pirate on the left. Syl drew back so quickly it was as if she hadn’t even wounded him. A cry of surprise died on his lips, choked in blood. Time seemed to slow as the other two pirates’ mouths opened, their faces contorting as their swords rose to meet her.

Meek took the second pirate, stabbing him in the heart from behind.

The second pirate keeled forward with a dagger protruding from his chest. The third man's eyes looked to the side for a fraction of a second as his brain struggled to comprehend how they'd been flanked. By the time he looked forward again, he was staring down the blade of Syl's rapier as she buried it, nearly to the hilt, in his throat.

"So much for the plan," she said as all three bodies hit the floor, almost simultaneously. The entire encounter was over in less than four seconds. The clatter of falling men and swords and the gurgling, choking sounds of their deaths was the loudest part.

    Passenger Deck Exploration

I turned to the three. "T-That guy looks kinda... big." I let out a nervous chuckle. Normally, someone that big wouldn't intimidate me... but A. I wasn't armed, and B. He would either beat the crap out of me or kill me outright. "Uh... guys... I should tell you... I can't sneak around, not intentionally." I rubbed the back of my head. I had accidentally snuck up on people a bunch of times... but the second I intend to actually sneak up or around someone, everything that could go wrong would. Stepping on an animal's tail, knocking something over, creaky floorboard, one time a very weak floorboard...

Evan understood why Joe was nervous, he was too, but there was no way in hell he would let it show in front of the others.
"Then keep your distance and leave the 'sneaking around' to the professionals. Either of you any good at stealth? I can keep hidden if needs be, and I'm fast, so I could probably get pretty close without him noticing me." Evan rested one hand on one of his daggers, his hand curling around the handle, his fingernails digging into the leather binding from nerves.

The guard reached the other end of the corridor, stretching his back with a crack and letting a long, disgusting snort rise from his throat. It rose and rose, growling like a bear in his nose before he spat a huge glob of flem at the wall wiping his mouth on the back of his hand. "This is fucking shit." He half moaned, before going into one of the passenger dorms to the right.

"Alright guys, we don't have to search all of the rooms, one each should suffice, if none of us find anything, then that means that it's more than likely our things were taken to the quartermaster's cabin, we'll want to be quick and quiet about this, in and out, ready? Break." I whispered. With that, I tip toed into the closest room, wincing at every little creak I made, thankfully the ship's constant rocking and creaking drowned it out... I began to search through the room, it appeared it had been lived in, however, I couldn't find any weapons or items of value, either this passenger was packing very lightly or was just very poor, or the pirates had indeed already confiscated everything within. I'd have to see if the others had any more luck.

At Joe's break Max crept along behind him and went for the room across from the one Joe went into, slipping inside and searching through it, when he didn't find anything he turned, sparing no time for thought and went into the next room over through the interconnecting door and gave that room a quick search. which turned up nothing as well 'damn, nothing' he thought as he stacked up against the door to the next room.

Evan moved slowly and silently along the wall, keeping one eye on the others. He saw the younger man, he believed his name was Max, enter a room, and come out again without anything. He then went towards another room, and Evan entered through the door opposite the one Max had just gone into.

The room was a fairly pleasant one, with a large chest in the corner. Evan went for that first, fortunately it wasn't locked, but found nothing inside it. He rifled through all the cupboards, checked under the bed and in the closet, but there was nothing to be found anywhere. Sighing, he quietly crept out of the room, and kept himself pressed to the wall as he moved slowly towards another door.

The guard could hear... something. He wasn't exactly sure and through the heavy storm outside it was difficult to know whether it was might just all be in his head, but he definitely heard... movement. He drew his rapier and bolted through the door and barged loudly into the corridor, twitching his head fast down it. He could only see darkness and all the doors were closed, but he it didn't help make an less jumpy. He whipped his rapier hard on the nearest wood door and shouted nervously, "Who's there? Anyone? Where are you!?"

I held back a gasp as I suddenly heard the brute from before yell out. He must've heard one of us... damn! I looked around quickly, there were four ways to hide... I could hide under the bed, in the closet, behind the door, or in the adjacent room, using the door that it was connected to in order to gain entrance. The bed and closet were too obvious and I wouldn't be able to sneak out behind him if he decided to come into my room. I could go into the other room, however, he could still enter that one and I'd still be in the same predicament. So, I opted to hide next to the door, so that when it swung open, it'd inadvertently hide me as well and I could potentially sneak outside, I didn't need to worry about the other door, I could sneak outside if I heard him in the adjacent room, that brute wasn't very subtle, he'd probably make a big scene out of trying to find us, that, and a lot of noise... worse case scenario, I tackle him and gouge his eyes out while praying to god that no one heard his anguished cries.

Nyl had stepped into a room cautiously trying to be quiet as she searched only to find....nothing. Either this room was empty to begin with or we really had no reason to come down to check. She sighed quietly giving the room another glance before thinking about going back out until she heard the slam on a door. Nyl would go quiet and stay near the door preparing to have to fight if needbe.

Evan heard the guard shout, he had obviously heard one of them. Evan gripped his daggers, preparing to draw them and fight if he had to. He hurried, faster than he would have liked, along the wall, until he was at another door. He stepped inside, closing the door after him, and pressed himself to the wall beside the door. He drew one of his daggers, and held it pointing towards the door. Hopefully if that brute of a pirate came in Evan could stab him in the throat and be done with it.

Nyl gives a little smirk as the pirate stepped inside of her room. With the cover of the door she waited as he searched the room to find nothing out of the ordinary. She would continue to wait until he was back at the door waiting to exit before springing out behind him. Despite her height she would grab him from behind one hand covering the pirates mouth to prevent screaming and the other arm swung around his neck with one of the provided knives cutting him from the front so the blood didn't get on herself. "....And this gentlemen is why we use the buddy system." She chuckles letting the body down gently and stepping out of the room careful of the blood.

    Shango

When Meek and Syl pounced on the unassuming guards, Shango saw that they did not need much help in the fighting department, so he focused on doing what Syl told him to do. He leaned the makeshift iron staff against the wall and waved his hands in a wide arc. The air swept around all of them, guards included, to block out all the noise from the battle, forming an invisible bubble. After a couple seconds, Shango began to struggle to hold the air bubble together. Usually, Shango made an air bubble to quickly tell someone a secret and then let it pop, but he had to keep this one whole.

He struggled to keep the image of the air bubble in his mind. His focused so hard that a sheen of perspiration covered his brow, his wide shoulders, and his lean torso. It surprised some people to know that it was easier for Shango to make big gusts of wind and flaming whips of fire, but it was the small, clever stuff that really took a lot of effort and focus.

    "So much for the plan."

When the fighting was done, Shango exhaled wearily and let go of the air bubble enchantment. They would know how well his sorcery had worked soon enough; if he had failed, the guards could come running in at any moment. But then again, maybe the sounds of the storm and the raging sea had drowned out everything.

"This was good practice for me," Shango told Syl. He tried to smile but he still looked fatigued and his whole body was trembling slightly. He used the staff Syl had given him to lean on, like an old man's cane, and his rested his chin on the top. "You were both excellent, very excellent," he enthused, casting his weak smile at Meek too. He wanted to give them more praise, but he was just too damn exhausted.

Shango closed his eyes and sighed heavily. "I'd really like to put on some clothes now," he mumbled tiredly.

I heard a door open... and then a bit of a struggle and then a thump. I peeked out of my door and saw that girl from our group. I walked out and walked over to her. I peeked into the room she had been in and let out a low whistle when I saw the dead mutineer. "Threat neutralized, good job." I grinned, I looked into the room and saw there wasn't anything. I peeked into each room and saw they were much in the same way, obviously searched and lived in, but otherwise empty. "Alright, I guess that means that there's nothing here... oh well, best to eliminate any risk." I mused to myself.

"Alright everybody, let's get to the quartermaster's cabin quickly, before they begin the battle without us." I grinned and ran back to the stairway, I knew this ship well enough to move around in the dark and gloom, and I had passed by the quartermaster's cabin a bunch of times, I knew where it was, if anyone got in my way, they'd better get ready for one hell of a hit!

When I reached the stairs, I took them two and three steps at a time. My footfalls barely made a sound as I ran. I stopped right behind the group with my hands behind my back, it only took only a few minutes to reach them, thankfully making it to them without any incident. "Oh my, looks like there was a mess here." I tilted my head. "Brutal, no luck on our side, nothing down there besides a dead crewmember-turned-mutineer-turned-slaver-turned-corpse." I nodded matter-of-factly. I saw the passed out Bard and nudged her with my foot. "What happened to her?"

I use the now corpse's clothes to wipe the blood off of the knife and nod my head towards Joe. "Seems like he picked the losing door." I say as I step out of the room. "To the quarter master's cabin eh? Time to meet up with the others I guess." I would follow behind Joe since he seemed to know which way he needed to go. As I followed behind I was impressed with how quick and quiet he was on the way. Certainly much quieter than other times.

Once there I look around. "Damn....And yeah what he said. Not a single thing back in the rooms. Well except the corpse."

after the mutineer had been dealt with Max went over to check his room, he tossed through it quickly but came up with nothing, 'ah...nothing' he thought. he quickly jogged to catch up with Joe and the others in the quartermaster cabin. he almost tripped over the unconscious girl on the floor before he noticed the that the other grouped had taken out some more of the mutineers, though he ignored that entirely as he looked around "is our gear around here?"

"This was good practice for me. You were both excellent, very excellent," Shango said, offering a weak smile to Syl and Meek as he leaned wearily on his staff. A moment later, he sighed. "I'd really like to put on some clothes now," he mumbled tiredly.

"Alas, I'm just an old woman, stuck in her ways," Syl said with a friendly smile. "I would fashion you some pants, but weapons are all I know. And, besides," she gave him a wink, "it's not such a bad look on you, darling."

She sheathed her foil, sliding it back into the parasol's handle with a firm 'click.' The pirates' blood seemed to roll off the blade, much like the bard's vomit had when it contacted the parasol's shade. There was never a need to wipe it clean. The weapon was enchanted to never age; it was locked out of time, impervious to rust, corrosion, damage, or stains.

It never changed, never bent or flexed, even when struck by much heavier weapons. In all likelihood, she would break before this sword ever did… hence the reason she never blocked with it. One strike, one kill. Aim for the soft bits and hope you don't hit armor or bone and end up with a broken wrist. Fortunately, she didn't miss often.

A short time later, Joe returned, leading the search party. "What happened to her?" he asked of the Bard, after giving a quick run-down of what they'd found --or didn't find-- in the passenger rooms.

"What should've happened a long time ago: she finally shut up," Syl said, with a palpable tone of disgust. "And I'm proud to say I played a part in it. My crowning achievement, if I do say so myself."

She looked to the other two members of Joe's party. "To the quartermaster's cabin it is. So, can anyone pick a lock or do you think one of these fine gentlemen," she nodded to the dead pirates, "has the key?" She didn't think 'Mumbles' would trust these ruffians with a key, especially if everyone's valuables were locked up inside. Nevertheless, it couldn't hurt to check.

"I can pick the lock," said Evan. "If the pirates don't have the key."

I walked over to the dead pirates and began rooting through their pockets. After a minute, I stood up. "Nothing, zilch, nada, these guys are as useless dead as they were alive." I nodded. "So, pick the lock, thief." I crossed my arms. "My poor scythe's in there probably all cold and alone! So hurry it up! It probably wants to hurt the people that treated it and its owner with such disrespect!" I did my best to suppress a grin.

Evan rolled his eyes at Joe's comment, and walked up to the door. He drew one of his daggers, the blade was thin enough to use, and stuck it into the crack between the door and the wall. After a few moments of wiggling it slightly to find the best angle, a click was heard, and the door swung open.
