    For me it helps if I consider what they are feeling at right this moment. This just led to four more scenes to insert in the previous chapter but the story is a lot more rounded now. Not to mention that it makes the coming endgame much more poignant :D

    Happy for my wife who was editing her book with a good speed despite the distraction of a new smart phone and Buffy the Vampire Slayer on the TV. I, on the other hand, wrote a few paragraphs then cursed their existence on my computer screen.

    It worked! :-D I had a great idea in the shower, and spat out 200 words as soon as I was dry/clothed enough.

    ...I should get this towel off my head and brush my hair. o_O

    *ahem* :brb:

    I've been having so much fun watching Youtube videos of Russel Brand, Ricky Gervais, and Louis C.K., though I can only understand about every other word of Brand. :superlaugh:

    I'm feeling genuinely motivated to write for the first time in at least a year. I probably shouldn't be optimistic given that I have never written anything that could be considered good ... but fuck it. I'll make it work, somehow.

    Something I wanted to share:

    A week or so ago when I was at my local library, they had a cart of books marked "Free" in the foyer. I picked up a beautiful clean copy of the Barnes & Noble edition of The Arabian Nights, Michael Crichton's The Andromeda Strain, John Grisham's The Chamber, and a beautifully-illustrated children's book by Lloyd Alexander called Dream-of-Jade, the Emperor's Cat. I have no idea why these were withdrawn, but I am happy.

    My husband became a British citizen today. It's been a long and very expensive road but finally we don't have to worry about being made homeless because we're unable to claim benefits if either one loses their job, or about the immigration rules changing and him having to leave the country. It was a nice ceremony too.

    well, i havent been on in a while, so i should update you all on some of the events happening in my life (though a couple of you on here already know from my facebook)
    • I started University back in late September, studying Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence
    • I moved into halls at university, though the messy guys i have in my flat make it hard work.
    • I managed to complete NaNoWriMo alongside 2 huge assignments i had to do
    • I built my own website (well, sort of...)
    • I have a new laptop (Hoo-ray!)
    • I actually had someone head hunt me for a programming job, even though I am in my first year at University, but I cant take the job *sob*
    • I got a low hour contract at a store in the town I'm studying in
    all in all, the past few months have been eventful (and i have exams starting on the 11th) but fun, I am actually really enjoying this all

    Watching a documentary on the Battle of Marathon. Reminded of why I loved history in the first place. :D

    I worked out today...first time. Not sure if I will pay for it in the morning but I'm in pain again, so how much worse can it get. Might as well work out (boxing and other stuff, punching walls and tires)

    And Im one step closer to finishing my editing...

    Today has been a really good day.

    I got a call to volunteer at a horse rescue (start on Tuesday). I found a job listing that I'm actually interested in (and qualified for --imagine that). I found another job posting that would be easy money. I'm two trophies away from the Platinum Trophy on my favorite game (I just got a trophy I thought I'd never get). My husband is applying for a major promotion that he's also qualified for. Our new bed was delivered, two weeks early. And my two cats, who normally fight worse than anything, are sleeping next to each other on the couch.

    Today must be the universe apologizing to us for all the shit breaking in our condo (we had to rewire the internet, repair leaking sink pipes, replace our ceiling fan and garbage disposal, and our heat pump just got repaired yesterday). All in three months.

    So... Yay for good days. :love:

    Just got done emailing with my college counselor and I've pretty much plotted out how to finish my degree next year. He sent an email to my vocational rehab counselor to try and secure funding so that I can register this summer to take my 6 hour internship, then I can finish up next year with two 12 hour semesters. Now I just have to find a good place to do my internship.

    Im happy because I just FINISHED my first novel. Reviewed it, did the editing (the part I will do, since it will have to be edited by a professional) and fine tuned it, with things like new lingo for an alternate universe type setting.

    I may redo the ending, because its an epilogue type. I dont want to end on a cliff hanger (not a big one anyway) but I want it to wake the reader wonder what happened to this guy, that girl etc...the sequel is next!

    I've been plugging along with my story at a rate of about 1,000 words per day and I'm so excited to see where it's headed.

    I'm learning how to code and, long story short, I'm in love with it. :) Here's what I've put into the exercises:

    <!DOCTYPE html>
    <body>
    <h1>POLITICAL STUFF!</h1>
    <p>As stated quite clearly, <a href="www.omgwtfbbq.com">Senator Binks had denied any involvement for basically dooming the Republic for 20+ years.</a>

    "Meesa don't understand!" he said. Well, clearly <a href="www.Google.com"> he needs to brush up on his history because he totally did!</a></p>

    <p>In other news, <a href="www.jawajuice.org">Local Tatooine residence, Juwa the Jawa had been found guilty of droid abuse</a> in accordance to the rules enacted by the <a href="www.SPAD.org/Tatooine">Society for the Protection of Abused Droids.</a></p>
    </body>
    </html>

    I wish I could show what the actual finished product looks like, but it works. And...it looks like it turned the links in the code to actual links. Don't worry, only the Google one works. It just takes you to the main Google page.

    I've only been doing my job at the grocery store for about two months, but management is already asking me to become an assistant manager. I told one of the managers today that school is more important and that I want to finish my degree, but I don't care helping out with other things while I'm working. It's nice to see that my work is being appreciated.

    Looking good! :agreed:

    Do you take a course in web development or are you learning by yourself on your spare time?

    (Also, to prevent links from being turned into actual links you can use [plain] tags, like this: [plain]www.google.com[/plain].)

    There's a free online course you can take for coding.

    Also, thanks for the info, I didn't know how to do that.

    Finally broke out of my not-going-to-see-my-horse funk. We're getting used to each other again, and my goodness, what a good mare I have. Good mind, easy keeper, good feet, good girl! :love:

    In a related story, I overheard a teenage girl explain to her vet the other day that her horse's back legs seemed "weak," and that her horse is 13 (about the same age as mine). They went off to work with the horse and when they came back within earshot, I overheard things about hock injections.

    ...on a 13-year-old horse. :bigconfused:

    *attempts to keep mouth shut about how maybe you should not destroy your horse's joints just because you wanna win ribbons or belt buckles or whatever*

    A week ago I felt horrible and had an anxiety crisis. Today I feel very well.

    Also, just found out this forum has the most awesomest feature ever added to a forum: a similar thread list when you're creating a new thread. I don't know what the bumping rules are here but this is simply the most clever idea ever.
