Apparently I need to work on being more 'shallow'. I am not sure well that's going to go.
Off to find my inner vanity, call me if you have any suggestions to make this less painful. :p

Why do we cry when we're sad or happy? Seriously, didn't tears evolve as a cleaning fluid? You're eyes get watery when you get dust or something in them. Why did we start using it to show off emotions? Aren't our facial expressions and voices enough?

Good question. We do it coming out of the womb, so it isn't a learned behavior or anything.

That's just screaming, though. Babies can't produce tears until they are a few weeks old.

Why did hippos invent waving their tails to fling feces?

Somebody thought it was cool, and the fad took hold at an evolutionary level.

Well presumably they flung feces as some sort of deterrent behaviour and the most available tool was the tail. But as I said, what purpose do tears fulfill? Where is the advantage for the behaviour to be genetically cemented?

It shows which of us are the most irrational & hysterical, and therefore a sign of an unsuitable partner for procreation as you don't want to pass on the genes for an inability to cope in stress & or handle problems

Or at least guys all tend to get super awkward and back out of the room rapidly once they've noticed a crying woman as far as I've experienced (especially when I'm the woman)

Well after a good long think, I have concluded that I simply can't be an
    empty-headed, vapid, shallow person.

In other news, I did have one of those eerily realistic dreams about being
in a place that makes me feel uncomfortable.

Would Beauty and the Beast sill work, if he lived in a shack full of books and not a castle surrounded by wealth?

@Iain Aschendale So a man in poverty is lesser a man, because he is poor?
