    Hi everyone!

I cant wait to get stuck in to the forum!

I'm starting my Masters in Creative Writing with OU in October and wanted to get stuck in to the Creative Writing world again beforehand. This forum seems like an amazing place to start.

Hi Nicola! Welcome to the forum.

And good luck with your Masters. Do you have any writing projects (novel, short stories, etc.) that you're currently working on?

Hello! Thank you! I have way to many projects in motion at the moment which is my biggest struggle as I need to focus on a couple and not ten! I have 2 novels, a pilot, 2 films, and a childrens book I'm working on!

Are you working on anything at the moment?

Wow, that's really great but why so many all at once?

As for me, I'm working on a dark fantasy novel atm, which is supposed to be the first in a 5-book series and which I've been working on for years. Hopefully I get to finish it in 2017.

I start one thing and then get an idea for something else and then start working on that, and just make continuous notes on each project but can never finish them.

Nice! Have you got each book plotted out already?

I have a general idea of the major plot points and where the story should be heading in each book, but I don't outline and I'm figuring out much of the details as I go along. Works better for me this way, it's like I'm discovering my story as I write it.

I know what you mean about getting too many ideas for different things, I'm like that too but I just never let myself commit to more than one project at a time. I get easily distracted as it is, if I even try working on two things simultaenusly I'll never finish either. It's better to write down your ideas as they occur to you and then, you know, come back to them once you're done with your current project, so you can get things done. Not that I always listen to my own advice of course :D

    Thats amazing! Good luck!

I have my notebook where I write all my ideas and notes down, and I carry it on me always. I definitly need to focus down on only one or two projects. Telling my brain to focus only on one thing though is difficult :D

An OU Masters? All the best in your academic ventures. In the meantime welcome to the snake pit! Just joking, I am new here too and have had nothing but positive impressions so far.

I am also working on far too many things all at once. However, in my case they have all sprouted from a single seed so perhaps they are really just all branches of the same big tree.

I look forward to bumping into you around the forum in future.
