Hello, I'm a writer from Birmingham, England, working as a web editor for a portfolio of magazines. I got into editorial because I always said that I wanted to be a writer. When you say that as a teenager, the canned response is, 'but you have to have a real job too.' So I made my real job writing as well. My computer is filled with short stories, half finished novels, outlines and screen plays that I've been tinkering with since I was about 13. I'm basically here to find like-minded people, possibly local to me, to talk about writing and help with criticism and motivation. My go to genres are science fiction and horror. I read a lot about utopias and dystopias as you can probably tell from my list of favourite authors. I look forward to chatting with some of you. Jacob

Hi Cave Troll and Sigma Zed, Thanks for your welcome. I think I will post some of my shorts in there. I've always been concerned about people stealing my ideas, but i'm here to talk to like minded people, and that's the only way I will ever get any better.

Hello again, If someone steals it, it'll be up here and easy for people to see that the story is yours. You could get a blog of your own and post it there too. That way, you have a site you control with it up. Chances are, people are too concerned with their ideas than the ideas of others. Plus, that copyright thing still exists. Good luck!
Hello! I am new here too from the UK (Sussex). I think that Sci-Fi is great and have been writing it since I was 14. I never had much time though to write, so only 3 novels written and published and 3 novellas! I have been a lecturer, but now I am retired I am taking the opportunity to write a massive space epic saga! Bye for now. marayshan
