Last year I left melon lanterns on my friends' doorsteps

I am now going out last minute to buy the melons to carve & leave flaming on more doorsteps

    I am such an adult~

@Wreybies I feel ya my friend. I lost about 2 months on mine until recently,
when I got my new wind to push the plot onwards.

(Don't tell no body but I write mirco shorts randomly in threads to keep my
    creative juices flowing.) :D

Why do I miss a man who makes me cry when I have a man I love so so much more now?
Why won't he fuck off out of my head?

    I kinda feel ya.

Why did the woman of my dreams hurt me so badly?

And why can I not find another that will love me?

Really? I always thought of being goosed as being poked suddenly and totally without permission in the backside (clothed, non-penetrative), kind of like the Japanese kancho "game" that little boys play with each other (and their teacher, once).

Oh lord, there's even a statue...

BTW, interwebz seems to say it can be either/or. Also, while looking this up I came to the know of the horror that is the inside of a goose's mouth.

There's just no call for that! o_O

    Happy Summerween!

Today was just going to be the run-of-the-mill, exhausting, overworked Thursday that I was not looking forward to in which I had already injured my left shoulder.

Then in the midst of the chaos, my bf asked if we were on for Summerween shenanigans this year, and it hit me what day it was, and then I completely looked forward to my lunch break where I bought & carved watermelons and now to this evening after work where I'll light candles and decimate decorate doorsteps with watermelons (did you know that watermelons are flammable? It's both interesting & a bit frightening).

Today has been a whole lot more fun now.

I remember that one, very well written, and the face of the robot was excellent. I think it came out around the same time as this:

IIRC, this was from a contest where the script was the only prompt given.

I don't know that I would call this haunting. The video is certainly a cautionary tale. Humans understand that complex systems are complex (sorry for the tautology), but we seem to know it, and then not know it when knowing it is inconvenient. I really think A.I. is a thing that needs to be left alone until we are much better at engaging naturally occurring human paradigms. We're not - as a rule and in general - very good at that particular task as of yet. Just turn on the news. I don't think we need to go about making artificially occurring human paradigms until we can be accountable to and for having made them, which would seem to be the warning implied by this video.

I agree that we shouldn't at least give it a body, or interwebz access
until it gets way more developed.

On the other side. I did create a species that figured out a way to
directly implant their brains into a metal bodies. The system is
highly complex as to how they are able to get calories and the
gas that keeps the brain alive, but it does think a bit more creatively
than an AI would. And due to their culture they are facing an extinction
as a result of making such drastic modifications. Though they do
get to live an obscenely long time, as long as they can keep their
    brain fed and body powered.

Well, I kinda' feel like we shouldn't be making them at all. It feels like cheating in the sense of cheating on a spouse. Instead of working on and fixing the relationship one already has, easier to just go have a fling with someone. Nothing ever ends well in that story.

    @Wreybies you might be right.
Though I am still curious of what or
how creating such a thing, would affect
world at the cultural level. In a simulated
    since, not in actual application.

So while I was trying to do all of work myself this morning, apparently our cat Hijinx (found on the property, but now acts domestic) snuck a live rabbit into the house then released it in all its terror inspired high-speed glory.

So my dad spent forty minutes trying to chase it out while the Hijinx very smugly enjoyed the show.

I regret not having been up there with a camera now. . .
