    Hi!

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by Vianca, Jun 22, 2017.

Well, Hello! I'm New, My name is Vianca. My style of writing is...well i would say, experimental. Because I write about my dreams. When I get hit by an interesting dream, I put it down on paper. In most cases. I am currently writing a murder mystery, but I am more of a fantasy fanatic. I love the mysterious and out-of-this-world kind of story. I do not have a background on Creative writing but I am in love with the idea of people reading my stories and transport themselves to another world. I love to exchange points of views and also (a little critique never hurt anybody). Well anyhoo... say Hey and thank you before hand for letting me join this world. :agreed:

Welcome to the world of tomorrow!

There are a lot of writers that get ideas from their dreams and keep a dream journal. I remember I once wrote an interesting story about gargoyles that turned people to stone, in a world already filled with zombies. It was mediocre at best, but the dream was pretty cool. (I had recently been watching some zombie movies and the gargoyle likely stemmed from the Drakkar(spelling could be wrong) from the Wheel of Time series.

Refining ideas from dreams and adding in the tools that improve the read-ability of the story, is a good method.
I say, get inspiration from wherever, whenever.

    Again, welcome!

Ah, an orthographic anarchist. You are following in the footsteps of the very great writer Robertson Davies:

"Only the other day I was looking at a book of letters from the seventeenth century, in which one writer expressed himself thus: "As for Mr. A--, I esteem him no better than a Pigg." Consider that word "Pigg." The extra "g" is not strictly necessary, but what power it gives to the word! How pig-like it makes poor Mr. A--! How vivid his swinishness becomes! And look at that capital "P." It seems to enrich the sentence by calling special attention to the most important word.

I am not a spelling reformer. I am a laissez-faire liberal in matters of spelling. I do not care that our present system of spelling wastes time and paper. I firmly believe that both time and paper are of less importance than the perfect expression of the writer's meaning. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a Pedantick Booby."
