Writing story for a cartoon or TV series.

Discussion in 'Plot Development' started by GH0ST, Jun 26, 2017.

So I have this desire to write a plot for a TV series or a cartoon. I know two things: If I decide to write the story of TV series, it should be realistic in some way. And if I decide to write something for a cartoon, I need a really original concept. I think writing for a cartoon is a better idea, cause the only thing that will limit me will be my imagination. Do you have any ideas, what this cartoon should be about?

An epic fantasy in the vein of The Last Airbender about a society that uses magic to create sci-fi level technology. They are well into their space age because of this. Then an alien threat with non-magical, practical technology more advanced than their magic systems attacks their galaxy.

I think you should write what you want. Not a subplot based on something that already exists.

Make a cartoon about rednecks that venture out of their farm/county for the first time.

You need to start by deciding on a genre.

I think it should be serious. It could have humor, but not too much. I think the storyline should be a bit dark. I am not sure to which genre this applies, though.
