    I just figured it out!

It's possible that while Raj and Leonard tries to restrain Howard, both Penny and Bernadette tries to reason with him. This can be interesting to juxtapose their different strategies. Bernadette would be sweet and loving while Penny's being all about 'tough love'. The other lady would probably distract Sheldon so he doesn't keep enraging Howard.

I think in this scenario, the only person who could calm Howard down would be Bernadette. Take her out of the equation, though...

How would they go about it? Raj and Leonard's strategies? Would Howard listen to them, even if they used the 'we're friends' card? I wouldn't think so because if he's at the point where he's willing to attack them with a bat, then he doesn't see them as friends. Just the core source of his misery, a source he's dealing with.

Dude, have you watched the show? It would be the other way around. Penny would be all Cornfed Nebraska Sweetness™ while Bernadette serves the tough love. Penny is really nice and all, but Bernadette is who you want in your crew during the Z.A. She's tiny, but she will shank a mofo.

Huh, I never thought Penny would be the sweet one -- she always came off as the hardass 'tough love' when I watched so if Howard went loco and started attacking them all, it'd be Penny that fights back with harsh words at his direction.

Hmm... Would it be like her to rush Howard, grab the bat out of his hands and hug him tightly? Or would she try a different approach?

I feel like Penny would punch Howard in the face if he was being really crazy. She seems like a scrapper.

Penny. She's the only one who's remotely fit, and her father wanted her to be a boy, so I bet she can fight.

I can't contribute much, because I don't actively watch the series, just the odd episode out of context.

And from what little I've seen of random episodes over the years—I can picture either girl playing soft spoken pacifier or the no-nonsense having; control taking; indisputable laying-down-the-law sort of force not to be reckoned with, if the situation is right.

But I get the impression Penny is the more stable/consistent one where she has day-to-day lines established that she'll step up if people cross.

Bernadette I feel like has a patience & endurance quota like a large pot of water on a stove. She'll quietly endure it, maybe simmer a little underneath the surface, but once you hit her boiling point, she will blow her top and scald everything in her path.

But I don't actually watch the show much, so those are my impressions from limited exposure.

The reason you guys don't get any writing done is that you spend all your time obsessing over TV shows. :D

    Hey!

I'll have you know I also don't get anything done because I spend that time equally obsessing over films, plays, music, and costuming!!!

Edit: Snap, I forgot books. . . So those too!

    *storms off in indignant huff*

There are certainly degrees to it. I've been told by bear-bears that I'm not really a bear. I'm a wolf, which strangely is the elder version of an otter. But that title seems pretentious and sounds like it's got a lot of maintanence attached to it.

Though it is note worthy that young men are called cubs
when in a relationship with either an elder woman or man.
At least that is how I have come to understand it upon
observation. The slang gets a little odd at times.

That you are a large muscular man that has a sexual appetite that is nearly insatiable? o_O

(Also you may be a road hazard if you play in the road after dark.)

I've been reading really old threads and it's really hard not to "like" posts in them, even though it's been anywhere from 6 months to several years.
