Hello, My nom de plume is Alistair Black and I am an unpublished writer with six short stories under my belt, and I'm currently working on a novel and a novella. My preferred genres are horror, science fiction, and fantasy, usually written in a pulpy, 1930's style. I hope to make some great connections here and to improve my own writing, and maybe even help others on their journey. AB.
Hi, Alistair. I'm also new here, uh, clearly. I'm just trying to work on my reviewing skills. In the past my critiques have been kinda harsh, and hurt people's feelings, so I thought trying to help all sorts of writers get better might make me a bit better at encouragement, and better able to improve other's works. I also write, a bit, but it's...reaaaaallly bad. And long. So I'm mostly just here to watch, learn, and review! Thanks in advance for any advice you all give.
Welcome fellow noobie! And that's a great idea using critique to improve your writing, I'm sure that will help a lot and pretty quickly too!
Hello, hello, hello and welcome! I am sure you shall find the forum a great place to develop your writing flight muscles. I have had nothing but positive experiences so far.
@MrFletcher Dear Monsieur Arrow Featherer, If you have a whim to practice critique upon an author that is truly difficult to offend, then may I humbly submit my own works for your consideration? I shall then as partial compensate for your greater efforts in this matter provide to you a similar service in so far as I shall attempt to perform a critique of your critique. In this way we may seek to mutually abrade the posterior extent of each others' torsos.
Wow MrFletcher, I am really impressed with your introspection. If your review is any indicator of your writing talent, it couldn't be "bad." Seriously!
