    Hello friends

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by Keepson, Jul 8, 2017.

Hello, my name is Matthew and I am a hobby writer from Texas who currently resides in Maine for the summer. I haven't written much of note but am currently working on a book and was looking for some advice. In the end of the first chapter, I had put in my outline that I was going to switch perspectives from one character to another. After writing a few lines of the second character's perspective I realized that the chapter was nearly over, perhaps in less than 50 lines, or at least what I had planned, and I felt that switching perspective for less than 50 lines of content was kind of pointless and yet the second character has a much more interesting part to play than the first in what was going to happen. Any tips and if there is somewhere better to put my question could someone please direct me there. Thank you!

You could post it in Character Development thread,
and see what others have to offer to your question.

    Good luck.

    Hello and welcome,

how do you decide where to end a chapter? Perhaps you could end the chapter 50 lines early and then give the second perspective a whole chapter of its own?

Anyhow, I am sure you can find a lot more people on the forum that can give you good advice. I look forward to bumping into you around the forum in future.
