    Opinions on canon character conversations?

Discussion in 'Fan Fiction' started by AshuraaHunter, Jul 16, 2017.

I am currently formulating a fan-made fighting game for the PC. If it ever comes to fruition, it will be free, due to licensing restrictions and the use of copyrighted material. Sure it might seem like a far-fetched idea, but I don't want this thread visible for too long, just in case it does exist in the future.

One of the characters I desperately want to include in the game is Pit, the flightless angel who is the main protagonist of the Kid Icarus franchise. Due to my dear respect of the conversations included within Uprising, and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, I wanted to include a special feature with the character, should he fight on his 'home stage' - a conversation relating to the character he's facing with personalities such as Palutena and Viridi.

So far I only have a few conversations created. The first relates to an original character for the game (an Islamic official from Saudi Arabia), then I made conversations about Dark Pit/Pittoo, Bridget from Guilty Gear, Kung Jin and Cassie Cage from Mortal Kombat, and a dialogue used when facing himself in a 'mirror match' ordeal. These were all created by yours truly, and is only a small sample of what I am going to have to type up.

I'm trying to match the characters' personalities in the most accurate ways to the source material that I possibly can. Please give appropriate praise/criticism, so I can work on this.

Sorry if I broke the rules,

(Pardon if I'm wrong, I am not a legal authority)
I'm pretty sure its irrelevant if the product is released for free or not, unless its parody, review, or changed for commentary, it doesnt fall under fair use to just use other characters. I'm not saying you shouldn't make this project if it's what you want to do, but be aware of copyright law first.

This is what I desire to do in the future. It is non-profit, and I am not going to make money off any other company's characters unless I get the near-impossible-to-obtain and expensive licenses for them. I know it might not fall under fair use, but look at all those other fan-made games that exist.

This isn't what I came to the forum for, but thanks in advance.
