Hello all, I've been writing for a long time but I've never published anything. I would like to do so this year if possible so any tips in this direction will be very greatly appreciated. I've put General Fiction down as my genre but only because I had to choose a category. I love pretty much anything and everything and I love to experiment with new writing and genres, for example I've written a couple of short erotica scenes recently which I've never done before! My strengths (I think) lie in character development and back stories, my weakness lies in plot development. I find I write my characters out but literally loose the plot half way through! I hope to really improve this here. But also improve my characters and interactions etc etc. I really appreciate feedback, so I hope to learn and interact and make new friends in the process on this forum. Equally, I shall try my best to give constructive feedback on texts I read here too. Looking forward to some exciting creative stimulation and interaction! All the best LCM
Welcome to it, LCM FWIW, we do have an Erotica subforum in the Workshop should you care to have your work critiqued. Be sure to give a read to the PM you'll have received from me upon joining. Answers to most of the more commonly asked questions can be found therein. Have fun. Wrey
Thanks guys, apologies for not having been active on here recently. I've read the guidelines in the Rules and hope to 'gain my stars' soon In the meantime I should add that I've written mostly fantasy stories. I also love Noire and I made a detective a la Philip Marlow, based in a sort of Medical Dystopia world. I went to see the film Contagion and I was very impressed by the idea behind that film. I also read Stephen King's The Stand which I found epic and I haven't read alot of Stephen King's works. Not a great horror fan. More recently, I have been experimenting with very short pieces of Erotica which I may share. But currently, I'm working on an old British School adventure type novel (complete with secret society and bully!). It's about a reluctant hero, a young man, who accidentally stumbles on a secret letter which leads him to discover who he really is. I have a trilogy in mind for it and it's a sort of family saga meets Indiana Jones affair, at the moment anyway. Of course it's a WIP so all of this could change. Anyway, thanks for your time and I shall re-read the Rules to start 'gaining my stars' so I can upload my stuff. All the best LCM
Always happy to have another erotica writer in the 'room' (as well as all of the other stuff, of course). I look forward to seeing your work.
