I am indeed a writer but I'm actually here to get some names for a new pet instead of a new character. My pets get unique names, but I am stumped for this one. That's when I thought ' why not ask other creative individuals?' Because who else would come up with a good name than a fellow writer? The pet is a black cat whose features include black whiskers and feet. Solid black, which is obviously the feature I wanted to base the name around. Right now the only name I truly like is 'Absence' (since black is the absence of color). I'm not set on it however, so I was hoping you guys might think of something that would spark my interest. Please help me name my cat!
Void Abyss Chasm Plague Grim Reaper Amnesia Forgotten Forsaken Night Obsidian Crow Dare All right, I'm out of ideas now I think I like Void, Reaper and Amnesia most. Crow could be kinda... ironic if ironic is the right way of describing it.
I'd name it (you didn't say male or female) - Kettle Sunshine Ghost Virtue Nimbus Aura Licorice Jet Coal Sinister Pitch Slick Wicked That's all I've got off the top of my head (Sunshine is my favorite).
Nightshade could be good for either male or female. Belladonna - scientific name for deadly nightshade - could be good for a female.
My bad! I didn't realize I missed the gender - this is a male kitty Although I am lenient with genders & names so don't let that hold you back. Thank you guys! I'm going to mull those over. I really like Amnesia, Nimbus, Pitch, and some others! Feel free to throw more out (it takes me forever to decide on names, pet, character, or otherwise!). Gonna think it over and I will give you all a heads up when the name's nailed down!
I've promised my boyfriend if we're ever getting and all black cat he'll be named Absimiliard, so that's the first name that came to mind.
I'm tempted to invoke H. P. Lovecraft here, but for the sake of decency, I won't. Instead I'm gonna say that I quite like 'Absence', and toss in 'Shade' and 'Fuligin'.
My friend had two cats one black and one ginger called pepsi and tango so dark coloured drinks like Guinness could be an option
Cougar Black Nights Beautiful Daughter (Daughter for short) Black Adder Pitch Raven Nightmare Demogorgon Alice
Perhaps you'd do well to consider what T S Eliot had to say about this matter: The Naming of Cats is a difficult matter, It isn't just one of your holiday games; You may think at first I'm as mad as a hatter When I tell you, a cat must have THREE DIFFERENT NAMES.
