I'm in this weird mental position about it. I think it should be legal, but due to a misspent youth*, I never tried it, and it's very illegal here in Japan. Like, I knew someone who had a friend ship him some, customs found it, and let him pick the package up. The moment he signed for it, he got busted for possession. Now yes, he knew it was on the way, but he hadn't opened the package yet, which means that theoretically anyone with my address and a grudge could severely screw me over.**

Plus, the whole legalization thing in the US has just been in the last few years, so I still struggle with the idea that you could just pop down to the store (in the right jurisdiction), ask a minimum-wage cashier for a recommendation, and have the fact that she's high*** be a sign of good customer service.

And Mrs. A thinks that Reefer Madness downplayed the dangers, but that's neither here nor there :)

    *military and law-enforcement work
**no, you can't have my address
***I assume that they aren't actually allowed to be under the influence while at work, but the scene plays better this way

I know a lot about weed too. And it's legal everywhere around me!

Damn, that's rough. Well, then don't mess around with it, not advised. Sorry about your friend though, what did they give as a sentence? Yeah, I've actually been to Colorado a couple times and been in several dispensaries. I'll say this, some are definitely better than others, but they generally all have similar stuff, except for some differences in strains, but even then you'll find some that are the same. It's crazy how easy it is to walk in and walk out. They run your card as an atm transaction at the register, then you're out the door. There's a limit to what you can buy, but that just means you have to walk outside, put it in your car, then go back in for additional purchases (not that I needed to do that of course, you get plenty the first time, damn). It's like going to any other store, except most of the time you get ID'd at the door...that's the main difference.
Then you probably also know more about it than myself, as I do not have that sort of access. This is my jealous face... U_U Don't count me out though, I still know my stuff, lots of research. It was a...sudo part of my job, back a couple years ago, when I was still running a local headshop.

I had a friend who use to deal.
But that was back in the day
when it was illegal every where.
But he used to hook me up for free. :p

Not quite a friend exactly, just a fellow gaijin from the neighborhood, but thanks for the sentiment. IIRC, he did three months. Also, if he was telling the truth, Japan wasn't the first country he'd been done for drug offenses. Not someone I really wanted to get very close to.

He was under the impression that I was CIA though, which was interesting :)

Oh, gotcha'. Well, you never know, but recklessness isn't a good sign either way. If you've gotten in trouble once for something, then it's best to not repeat that mistake. If it's just weed he's gotten in trouble for in the past, then I'd just say he wasn't playing the game too smart, but I also don't know the guy either. I'm quicker to blame governments though for misconduct and unnecessary laws. Three months for a package of MJ? I don't care if it was a pound of grass, that's criminal conduct by law enforcement. lol A ticket would have sufficed. I have no respect for any country though that arrests people for non-violent crimes. One of the main reasons I dislike my own country.

That moment when your "perfect child" suddenly decides to throw a screaming fit for four hours. For no reason. Starting at midnight. Wouldn't stop for anything. :nosleep:

TMW you realize to your horror that due to your apparent lack of understanding of how family trees work, you inadvertently had your characters practice incest. O__o

"Mohawk, you idiot!" Amity cried. "You mean to tell me that...that...THELMA IS BOTH YOUR COUSIN AND OUR BOY'S AUNT!?"
Mohawk sheepishly looked at his feet. "Uh, yes."
The very next second was filled with an explosive pain at his nose as Amity slugged him in the face with all her strength.

They're 16 and 12. The 16 year old (boy) is the one who's into anime.
