I'm actually Dutch, but I live in France. Been writing all my life, but as I'm now trying to write my first actual novel, I've found that I would really like some writer friends. Not really ready to share anything yet (first drafts and all), but I would love to read your work and I'll give my pig-headed opinion if you ask for it. My current WIP is a gothic novel set in an alternative Victorian Nottingham, where people with magic hold the power. After her aunt is murdered, a young woman sets out to find a cursed Jet Jewel. Doesn't sound very original, I know, but wait till you read it I'm nice, talk to me!
... and I'm an American working on a story that's set in the winter of 1792, Paris, as the Revolution rages on... a 12 year-old girl has fate thrust on her in the form of a locket, that may, or may not contain the last mortal remains of Joan of Arc, leastwise some ashes of uncertain origin. So you see, we can still use jewelry in a fantasy story! And welcome to the forum!
Hi @SweetBakker You're right, you do sound nice! So, I'm a new member here too and I'm also writing my first draft. It's about a reluctant young man who stumbles across a secret letter which changes his life. I'd be delighted to talk to you further. Take care
Sirette. That is cool. I am working on a sequel to my first novel. Also working on shorts in between Good luck with your first novel, and have fun.
Thank you! And you with everything you're working on. Sounds like you've got enough to keep you busy!
