It's an idealized illustration of me when I'm writing. I use it at my twitter avatar as well, since I don't want an actual picture of me associated with my pseudonym.
Mine's nothing clever, just a drawing my grandfather did of my grandmother as Rebekah at the Well back when they were dating in high school in the 1910s. Funny thing is, they broke up and parted ways; Grandpa met and married somebody else, who died of TB, and my grandparents got back together after Grandma wrote him a sympathy note.
That is not Will Smith, it is the guy that plays his cousin on the show. IDK what his name is in real life.
This is a (unfortunately poor quality) photo of an original piece of art that I have in my house. The boat that the owls are sailing (due north, I believe) is weaved out of words and of course the mast is a book. I see it every day and think to myself that they are searching for creativity. Words, water, books, adventure, exploration...all things I love.
Better than having no avatar but mine is a picture of the outdoors. If i'm stuck in an elevator with a cubicle full of people and claustrophobia, I look at my avatar.. and breathe. If I'm out in the city on a hot sticky day with a roadful of traffic, lots of heat and congestion, I look at my avatar.. and breathe. Probably wanting to be somewhere scenic right now , he-he.
Alice in Wonderland carried one of my favorite quotes! It kept me sane working the Corporate job. 'But I don't want to go among mad people,' said Alice. 'Oh, you can't help that,' said the cat. 'We're all mad here.' Lewis Carroll
It's Flawkes, the main character from Cargo: the Quest for Gravity, a weird video game by Russian indie studio Ice-Pick Lodge, who are awesome and my fave. I'm really into indie gaming. And I like Flawkes because she's an airship engineer with a deep booming voice and stompy boots and she spends most of the game kicking buck wild bare-ass naked midgets in the nards. Yes.
I'm mostly changing my profile picture to match the current project I am working on. The last profile I used was a Scottish Kelpie for a story I wrote in the horror section called 'Hogganfield Loch'. Currently, its a H.P. Lovecraft-esque image since I am working on a tribute to his work. Can't wait to upload it here too
