I'm no big drinker so I think it wasn't too bright an idea to buy a bottle of Whiskey and drink a cup. Liquid fire piss; the mess of it all. Oh, I'm happy though
Going to the post office in the a.m. to send out a bunch of short story submissions. I worked hard for this. Fingers crossed.
I've been told by some pub friends of mine that "You are such a weak drink an Irish toddler could drink ye under the table, lad." And it's true, though I don't condone toddlers drinking. Good luck!
The last time I ventured onto a golf course, someone yelled, "My God! Let me out of here! I bleed easily!!"
The eclipse was fun to see. I went to my cousin's house to see it with him and his family seen as my mother and step dad decided to screw up my day once again with their BS..... But I refused to let them screw this up on me. I wanted to have fun today. Brought some games for the kids to play. I have extra handhelds so I can share. They had those special glasses that let you see the sun so clearly you can see the sun spots on its surface. Unfortunately the clouds ruined most of it, but I did get plenty of pictures and videos to share with my grandma who is stuck inside. My poor coordination didn't help when it came to holding both the phone and the glasses up to its lens but I'm use to that by now. Just took some patience. My cousin had a welding mask that we used as well. I'm disappointed that mom ruined today of all days. Unfortunately going to my cousin's house isn't gonna become the solution to avoiding mom and her BS. It's awkward going over to see him when he's being such a ........ Well a lot of my family is like that actually...... Today can be counted as a good day. Because I made it a good day. Which makes today a success. I also fixed the Internet on my Nintendo Switch yesterday which is super awesome. I should start celebrating the smaller successes in life. It may very well be the only things I'll get to enjoy.
You certainly seem to have taken the right attitude to what appears a difficult day for you! Kudo's to you!
I think I'll also contribute to this thread So as a recent graduate, I've found it ridiculously difficult to find a grad job, never mind one in the sector that I'm going for (publishing). So in the three months I've been a graduate, I've moved back in with my parents, hopped from temp job to temp job just to survive (bit of an exaggeration but oh well), cancelled all holidays abroad with my buddies so I can fully focus on this hurdle. I really don't want to make it seem that I'm ungrateful for what I have, as I know what I'm going through is probably sunshine and rainbows compared to other people's problems, but It's definitely been a learning curve having to adjust my life accordingly to all this. However, I've finally got an interview next week for not one but TWO jobs in the very sector I want to work in, which has made me a very happy bunny indeed. All those applications I've sent off, the days where I've felt hopeless beyond disbelief, and having to stay in all day over the weekends have finally paid off. It's probably going to amount to being a such a small event in my life (assuming I live to the average life expectancy in the UK), but it feels like such a big win
Yes, congrats. There are few things in life more stressful than looking for a job and few things more exciting than landing one.
I second, well third was Trish and Earp have said. Congrats on the interviews and best of luck. Make sure you keep us updated on how you get on!
I got a hundred dollar Amazon gift card form a distant friend and went on a mini book buying frenzy. Picked up: Strange Practice (A Dr. Greta Helsing Novel) by Vivan Shaw. Brought the last 5 books in the Rivers under London series by Ben Aaronovitch (really enjoyed the first book.) Lastly, I brought the sequel to The Gates by John Connolly titled The infernals. Even though my backlog continues to grow, my happiness grows with it. Also, this made me jump for joy: https://www.theverge.com/2017/2/17/14651796/neil-gaiman-neverwhere-sequel-the-seven-sisters
Yorkies are good dogs. We've had few of them because my wife is allergic to pet dander and they're hypoallergenic. They're willful and fearless. Big Papi would charge at a bear if I let him. They're manipulative though... he tries to play my wife and I off each other, deliberately (I think) following the commands of one while completely ignoring the commands of the other. Then he'll switch back halfway through the day. And I;m convinced that he faked kennel cough a few weeks ago to make us take him with us when we went away for the weekend. As soon as i canceled his boarding plans he stopped coughing. And he kept side-eying me. Little punk.
I just had a brilliant inspiration about the motivations of my bad guy that makes EVERYTHING MAKE SENSE. I love when my characters speak to me. Details in my progress journal if interested. But, yay!
Just got a whole set of Klipsch speakers and a receiver for 80$ which is a bloody steal. And am only using 2 of the smaller ones (approx, to Bose 201's) and they kick ass. Major upgrade from a 10in frankensteined Ibanez guitar amp.
