It's a pic I took of my cat a couple years ago. Always thought she looked rather dapper in that pose. Calm and collected, like a doctor...haha
Where to start? I could go on for days on the shading alone. It's just so expertly done. Most people can't tell me if they think its a picture or a drawing! And the guy in the picture? And in that pose? I know according to society should be provocative, but somehow it transcends expectations. But honestly, I'm not sure what's up with the machinegun wielding velociraptor in the background. Your guess is probably better than mine. Any opinions?
It's inspiration I made for my novel, trying to make a paper sign look like weathered, painted metal. I goofed on the upper corners and the center of the biohazard symbol; it was supposed to look like rust.
Mine's a picture of one of my MCs, Vanna, that I made on an online game on azaleasdolls dot com. Technically, that's a 1940s game and her book is set mid-thirties, and of course she wouldn't be wearing high heels (not that you can see in the cropped-down version) but I'm pleased with it nonetheless.
Mine is me, from Halloween a few years ago, chucked through a couple layers of Deep Dream (which doesn't show very well in the thumbnail.) I feel it represents Iain well.
For Iain is a paradigm of many layers. Projection, reflection, introspection, external, surface, internal, mantel, core, inner core revolving through the ages, giving birth to magnetic ripples and fields, the hum of time, the roar of geological engines. Yes. This.
I just went to the website you mentioned, really liked it. Ended up making a model of one of my MCs, Anna (the one in my profile pic) and I kinda love the result.
Yeah, there are loads of great games on that website, and I'd also recommend DollDivine. Which game did you use?
I used Cyberpunk Fashion, it was really cool. Yeah DollDivine is great as well, I've used it a few times. ETA: Here's a pic of Anna that I made with Cyberpunk Fashion on azaleasdolls:
Yup exactly. I cannot stress enough how much I suck at drawing, seriously, I fucking suck at it. Games like these are life savers, it's really helpful to have a visual point of reference for your characters, even if they're not 100 percent accurate. Plus they're really fun to play.
Mine is a picture I took when my dad and I rode with a motorcycle group. I rode on the back of dad's bike because I was the club photographer and, being the photographer, never have pictures of me. So I snapped one on the way over to meet the club one day and when I got home was shocked to see what a cool picture it was. It's hard to see in the avatar but in the full size shot you can see the city of Tampa reflected in my visor.
I've never felt right using an avatar that I didn't create, so I rectified the situation. Until a few days ago, my avatar was a picture of my Ganesha idol.
My current avatar is digital art by Nicklas Gustafsson. It's meant to be an apocalyptic warrior. Spoiler: Image
Actually, I find pugs and the current obsession with them repulsive. Once I'd chosen my user-name, I googled it, and found a band had also used the named...this is the cover for their 9th album.
My current av's a pic of myself taken around a year ago, on my porch. Hair's down near my shoulders now, beard is gone. Mine changes every so often. If not a pic of myself, it'll be a warship, an air ace, a surreal picture, or something from nature. I don't change it so often here, but that's because I'm not often here anyway.
I found this guy looking for tattoo ideas. I didn't get him, but I keep the picture because it's how I picture a character of mine.
My picture is a piece of art I hammered out in a night. My husband wanted another tattoo and told me what he was looking for. The assassins creed logo with a tribal look to it. He ended up hanging it on the wall instead and never got the tattoo. Liked it better as a piece of art and felt like a tattoo artist wouldn't do it justice, I guess. I posted it up on my profile a long time ago trying to attract traffic on DA for commissions, but nothing ever came of it. Deviantart is near impossible to get traffic on unless you're a digital artist or a fan art creator or a semi-pornographic photographer. I used to commission tattoo art so people could take them to shops and have them done. I've mostly done traditional tribal artworks in the past. Since it seems to be the most popular. The last before that was a stylized bear paw an ex-friend tat'd to her chest.
Mine is Gina Gershon in 'Showgirls.' It was a great performance in a really entertaining and over-the-top movie.
I was not sure I would be around. But after almost 5 months I know I will be here. I am a little old for avatars. On all other forums (not many) I am myself. This is me posing for my students. I give (amateur level) a course "Classic Portrait and Studio Photography"
