    Hi!

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by EmperorJackal, Oct 21, 2017.

Call me Jackal. My biggest writing influence is probably lovecraft. When I was younger I would read him nonstop, then when I grew old enough to recognize the issues in his works I obsessed over deconstructing both his stories and anything else I read. Most of my influences are horror or supernatural related, but I've also been motivated by other genres like cyberpunk.

One of my most significant writing passions is using MBTI and enneagram systems as tools for exploring character psychology. I spend a lot of my time studying function interactions and core motivations among real people, and use characters as means for further exploring and deconstructing various complexes. I also like to use character development as challenges, to examine the routes and influences that would push certain psychologies to unlikely ends.

Other than writing, my primary hobbies are taxidermy, art, gaming, and studying insects. I'm looking forward to joining the critique community here!

    Hello Jackal,

I ted to enjoy Lovecraft's work more when it is used as insperation rather then the stories themselves. Neil Gaiman has written short stories based on his work as well as TV shows and Movies, even SouthPark used Cthulhu to take out Justin Bieber (I watched that part many times).

Welcome aboard, Jackal! I'm also a Lovecraft fan*, and not the only one here, I think you'll have a good time, and I look forward to reading some of your work once you've hit your necessary marks.
