It's been a decade since I first discovered Disturbed, and it's been about four years since I last heard them. I've been spinning their discography for days, because holy hell, their stuff holds up. And this from a guy who's been listening to screaming death/thrash/groove/stoner metal for almost a decade. It all started with Disturbed.
Some classic blues/ jazz. The scene in Legion(tv) with the Bassnectar remix introduced me to this gem. This original version is very good too.
I listen to plenty of the sixties and seventies rock/prog stuff, but there are some bands/solo artists that are outside of this genre that I particularly like. For example, I quite admire the work of ELO (Electric Light Orchestra), but then again I love most things by Amy Winehouse. However, at the moment, I quite like Ralph McTell songs - as he is a gifted songwriter and guitarist.
While the visual story telling takes place after You Against You. The story concludes with a rather interesting revenge/redemption, that is intense and quite satisfying.
Fuck yes. This was the first album of theirs I heard. I used to blast this while playing Gears of War 3.
Cool. I used to play Nile : Annihilation of the Wicked Album to the bridge level in Black. You had to time it right for the intro, but it worked pretty well.
