I'm still kind of new to the entire writing thing... I use to try to write poetry when I was younger, but started reading things like Dune or Lord of the Rings and started wanting to be a real writer. So, here I am wanting to learn what I can from everyone and trying to get something of my own written down to share with the world.
Interesting fact, both J.R.R Tolkien and Frank Herbert wrote poetry, and their poetics do show up in their major works. - Regardless, here is a small welcoming gift: https://www.writingforums.org/entry/orys-writing-notes-introduction-and-thoughts-on-style.63609/ Good luck.
Thank you, @OJB. What I want to write and I what I think I am capable of writing at this time are two entirely different concepts. I want to write an entire new sci-fi series and put a little bit of my real life in it and then make up the rest. But what I think I am capable of right now is nothing more than short stories. :| Hopefully by rejoining a writing community, I can get past that. BTW, I am another LegendFire transplant. I joined them about three or four years ago and never really spent much time on there at a clip, but I went to go back to them today and found out that they had shutdown. Total shock to my system. It's taken me roughly 5 hours to figure out what I wanted to say on here about myself.
