I've decided to submit a short story or three to some magazines/anthologies just to get my name out there, get a sense of accomplishment out of actually being published, and maybe make some money (though I don't expect much on this front). Now, I've been looking up fantasy/scifi magazines both in the UK (where I live) and the US. While I've come up with several good candidates for the later, I've been having some trouble with the former. So it would be greatly appriecieted if you guys could name a few good, reputable UK-based Magazines/anthologies that focus mainly on fantasy and/or science fiction genres and have at least a decent readership. Thanks in advance!
Latter, not later. Not sure if that was a typo. A Google search found this: Short Story Magazines UK. Not sure of the cred but it looks extensive.
Interzone is a great sci-fi/fantasy short story magazine. Regularly has excellent stuff in it, and last time I checked they also paid relatively well (though fair warning: 'last time I checked' was some years ago now). If your stories veer toward the darker end of the spectrum, the same company also publishes Black Static.
That was a typo That's a really useful list Ginger, thank! I think I've come across this before but I'm gonna take an in-depth look at it. Thanks again.
I checked both out, and they seem like the type of thing I'm looking for. Though there's nothing about payments on the website.
I recently got rejected by Interzone...their website offers decent pay... practically everywhere else I've seen is USD
