Third day in a row I'm making sushi. I'm trying to kill my mania for them by eating too much of it.

    That'll be $27.99, please.

(and it works... a foodie and their money are soon parted)

No pictures but I did a sweet chicken sausage with whole wheat angel hair pasta and a fire roasted tomato and basil sauce. I actually measured everything out and if my math is right the plate came in just under 575 calories.

Last year I had the most amazing dining experience at Ardent. $150 per person for an 8 course tasting menu with beverage pairing. I think each plate had about 1/4 cup of food on it, tops, but it was like Jesus had touched my soul and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Agreed. I just checked the price for @big soft moose 's similarly described entree with a portion of meat considerably smaller than a playing card at my two L.A. favorites: $38-$42. Pasta is $27. Apps $17-19 Dessert prices aren't listed but $10-12 as I recall. ETA: Actually I think the chocolate souffle for 2 was $21. I remember because I couldn't eat it because it had chile (not disclosed on the menu). I love mole, but not as dessert.

"My little woman - aping all the great chefs of the world - I seen ya .

I seen your collection, your cook books, Elizabeth David audio diaries: she said this...and she said that. Nice. She said olive oil, did she?
And eating, and eating - for an orgasm, was it?

Yeah, I seen ya, all wobbling in your kitchen on your urchins, honey, sludge, tofu - for a water baby. You want a baby? I'll give you a baby. I know, you're seeing secret, sushi, weekdays, eh? Lavender, breakfast, nut milk. 'I could have been on Masterchef Australia for my parrot on French toast, pan fried, semi-finalist, at least, my dream.' Yeah, ya nag, jus fackin do it, will ya?"

"I will, I will...you watch me, I shall be free."

Being French, I second that. No disrespect to any cheese...

I'm terribly allergic to cheese (mold allergies), so they get used in the same sentences a lot around here. Ditto for red wine, sourdough bread, and mushrooms. I'd be so screwed if I were French...

edited for clarity because I shouldn't be on the phone and type at the same time.

Aw that's a shame. Some cheeses are really exquisite. (Just reading over to ensure those two words weren't together. @8Bit Bob has a good eye...)
