TMW insomnia finally gives way to complete exhaustion and you sleep the deep sleep of the near dead. Such joy!

TMW you are in a Deaf/Hard of Hearing group on Facebook and someone yells about how those with hearing impairment don't have to wear their hearing aids just for the sake of the hearing's convenience. TMW you offer an insight from their (the hearing) perspective and you fear the flak. TMW you realize that there is a whole Deaf culture that you are not even the least bit aware of. TMW you realize the irony of being hearing impaired yourself.

hes right - he absolutely doesnt need to wear a hearing aid for my convenience - its his loss if he can't hear a word anyone's saying or communicate with them ... ie its for his convenience not mine (the hearings) - tbh he sounds like a bit of a twat

TMW you understand this moment. Trust me, my own community, the LGBTQ+ (pretty soon we're gonna' have to just say 'Alphabet People') causes me to eyeroll in epicly audible fashion on the regular. Communities are anything but homogenous.

TMW: you're in the car blasting Cream's 'Crossroads', and your teenager says, "Uh Dad, can you turn it down?"

If it's too loud, you're too old... oh, wait...

I know, right!? Some of these folks are like, “I demand the ‘Hearies’* cater to me because of my disability, and if they don’t want to put up with the fact that I like to take my hearing aids off when I’m at home, fuck ‘em!”

It’s... Jesus fuckin Christ! My philosophy is to help the world help me. That includes wearing my hearing aids. If I take them off, I let people know! Just like if my hearing aid batteries die, I let them know. Sure they may not get it, but at least they know why I’m suddenly going to be absent from social interaction for five minutes.

    * Yes, that’s the nickname for the hearing folks.

I'm never, ever, ever, evah saying "quiltbag" other than this one time to say that I will never say it again. It is a deeply inneligant construction clearly created with only PC goals in mind and without any regard for the mouth-feel or impression a word makes.

It sounds so... frumpy dumpy. :wtf:

Lets add an H for hetero then we can just say people :D

Also I texted the freind who told me about including X and he says its for Xtra and covers people who have a psychosexual compulsion to have sex with more than one partner at the same time ..... ie where threesomes or more are situation normal and couple sex doesn't do it for them.

    I didn't know that was a thing

TMW... Well, little long, but my sister moved from our home state to a different one, and she had a question about some state-specific educational things and how they've changed (or not) since she moved, so she asked, on FB, for answers from people still living in the home state.

Her feed is now filled with answers about what it was like in the 1950s in third and fourth states, opinions about how it's all screwed up now and kids just have it too easy, opinions about how much better they do it in Canada, but, as near as I can tell, no answers to her original question.

TMW you're having a picky day music wise and then, against all odds, manage to find the perfect music for running. :cheerleader:

Good for a fifty meter dash, but you're asking for a heart attack if you go longer at that pace.

I use Motorhead and Rammstein for my running music.

It's lucky their songs are rarely much more than 5 minutes long.
