May: Oh wow. That's a lot of history there. You two have done a lot, haven't you? I'm started to feel kind of small over here.

Anyway, I guess since we have some nice backstory on you two, it's only fair that you here about us. It won't take long, I promise. I'll go in order of chain of command in our team.

Jack Knight only has three titles. First is her alias, the Blank Dragon. The dragon part comes from a large tattoo of a dragon on her back, as well as her ability to copy the abilities of others (like she's a blank canvas). Second is the Juggernaut. I've wasn't actually there when she was given the title, but she got it by being completely undefeated in the King's Arena for two straight years. Last is her status as the Solar Knight. She got this by being the best knight in the kingdom. This is actually the last title she got, given to her when Sarah took control again.

Sarah Sun is the Princess of the Sun Kingdom. This title is shaky because we don't know whether to change it to Queen or not. She is also the High Scholar, which she got by being top dog in Magisen, a city run by scholars. She actually stepped down from her position shortly after she got it, but the title stays with anyone who gets it, no matter what they do after. The people refer to her as the Giant, this is because of the tattoo of a large golem she has on her stomach. Some people call her the One Woman Army because she defended Magisen against an army, by herself, for about two days straight without stopping.

Arc is the Wild Wyvern (alliteration isn't fun, by the way). This is due to the tattoo of a wyvern on his chest, as well as his heritage from Wild Island (Yeah, I know it's a stupid name, but my people are simple). He's also called the One Man Army because he defended the only town on Wild Island against an army by himself for about a day.

I, May, am the Wandering Serpent. Jack mentioned these earlier, they were the Serpent and the Wanderer, they've just been stuck together. Anyway, I got them from a water serpent tattoo I have on my right arm, as well as the fact that I wandered around the Sun Kingdom for a couple of years while fighting of its army by myself.

So, that's us, I guess. Hey, Koshka, Anton, do you two have any titles? You seem like you've done some cool things, so it's inevitable, right?

Beta: Well, don't feel small. Our way of life here is such that we have to compete endlessly, day in and day out. I often wonder how it would be, if we had time to relax and do more than plan for achievements and titles in our every step. Jack Knight sounds impressive! Our women cannot become warriors, only athletes. Or guards, in rare cases. Even queens have to stand in a safe spot when they lead their army into battle. What kinds of abilities can Jack copy? It would be interesting to know. And how did your queen get her tattoo? What does it mean to be a high scholar? Why are you unsure of whether she should be called queen or not? She is enthroned, isn't she? Here, if a woman is the supreme leader of the country they are called a Queen by default. I sense a cultural difference.

Alpha: Ah, those meetings... It looks like I'm back just in time. Your princess is an interesting woman. A whole army for two days? Really? There is no one in my world who can do that. This sounds like a story worth telling. It's a pity brother Delta isn't here, he loves stories more than anything.

Beta: No, it's not a pity! He'd only try to use the moves on these ladies.

Alpha: True. We'd end up scraping him from the floor this time.

Beta: By the way, tattoos seem to be important in your culture. Are they symbolic, or connected to your powers? I didn't completely understand what you said about the serpent and the wanderer. What is their story? How is it connected to you?

Alpha: Oh, I don't see these two detectives of yours. Did they accept the job yet?

    Beta: We'll see.

    Sarah: I've returned.

    May: Hey, Sarah!

Sarah: May, you should really learn how to explain things clearly.

    May: Where're the others?

Sarah: Arc forced Jack into a fight, so I returned here. I must say, even I have to admit that your lives sound more difficult than my own, Alpha and Beta. I apologize that May was the one to explain things to you. She is not the one I would have selected.

May: Thanks for the ringing endorsement.

Sarah: Anyway, I shall now answer you questions. Let us start with me.

The title of High Scholar is given to anyone who has ever become the leader of Magisen, which is a city famous for its brilliant minds. It happened after I had defeated the old leader, who had crossed me one too many times for her own good. Although I am not longer the leader of Magisen, the title will stay with me forever.

The battle for Magisen was not a feat of strength. My enemies were complete pushovers, but they were numerous. If they were an actual threat, I probably would not have survived the first day. You see, I am quite adept at fighting numerous enemies, especially if they are weak. My enemies were a rebel group bent on taking control of the city. Despite their lofty goal, they were nothing more than loud-mouth children with weapons, they were not warriors. I was able to either kill or mortally wound most of them with minimal loss to my stamina. The only reason I could not finish them off myself was because there were simply too many. I did, however, manage to destroy almost all of their forces before they captured me. Really, I believe Arc's to be a much better story.

May: Sarah's skill allows her to attack multiple enemies while doing the same amount damage to each of them. Her attacks also do damage ranging from burning, I have the scars to prove that, to completely destroying whatever she hits. This is how she could take on so many enemies and hold them off for a couple of days.

Sarah: I should not have fallen to foes as weak as them. Had it been a fair fight, I would have easily won.

May: Anyways, Arc basically did the same thing, which is why they have similar titles.

Sarah: He only lasted one day though.

May: His enemies were tougher than yours.

Sarah: Anyway, the Wanderer and the Serpent were simply May's first two titles. They had been formed into a single title for the sake of ease.

Tattoos have no cultural significance, but they have meaning to us. Our first leader, my brother, JJ, loved old stories based around four beasts. Their names were Leviathan, the Sea Serpent, Might, the Gaian Dragon, Ara, the Wind Wyvern, and Doan, the Lava Golem.

    May:
    Alliteration isn't fun.

Sarah: The tattoos are based on those four. He had all of those tattoos and insisted we each get one, as a way to signify us as a team.

May: They didn't mean much when we got them, but, after JJ's death, they sort of, connect us to him.

    Sarah: Symbolically, of course.

May: Anyway, now onto Jack. Her copy ability allows her to look at other people's abilities, and she will learn how to do them herself. I think she also copies that person's fighting style, but I haven't asked her yet, so I'm not sure.

Sarah: She does, that much is obvious just by watching her. Anyway, I think we're done.

May: No, you still haven't answered one.

Sarah: Ah, yes, you are correct. My royal status is not certain at the moment because I am a bit too young to be Queen. A woman of the royal family officially becomes Queen when they are 25, at which point the new Queen's mother loses her status. If the Queen has a husband, that husband then becomes King, if they do not, her father retains his status. I am only 22, so I am not technically a queen. Arc and May believe I should just take the title of Queen as I have no living mother, but I cannot break tradition for such a silly reason as that. Will that suffice?

May: You could be a bit friendlier, you know...

So girls can't be fighters in your world? The same goes for the Sun Kingdom. Things are different on Wild Island, because only the strong survive, so everyone there is very strong, compared to the average citizen, that is.

Sarah: Yes, it is good that the residents on Wild Island are docile; I am sure they could conquer the world if they wanted to. I mean, if a runt like May can get as strong as she is, then imagine an adult going through hardcore training. But yes, Jack and I are the exception in our kingdom, we are rebels, after all.

My, this was a bit long-winded, was is not? I apologize for taking up too much of your time.

May: Like, I get that you're a princess, but you're way too formal. So, I think I remember Beta saying he's good with a sword, but how do you fight, Alpha?

Koshka: I am impressed. Rarely met people that interesting and strong. Usually people I meet are not worthy of their price on raw meat. Remember some names. Few exceptions.

    Anton:...*gaaagh*.....

Koshka: My only title, Koshka, was given after mother abandoned me at Grandfather's door when I was five. She fled the country, I guess. Started to rain outside. Got wet, cold, pneumonia. Grandfather took me inside the house. Took care of me. Never recovered my voice. Hurts to talk. Breathed, and cried like a little pussy... Not anymore. Is the past.

    Anton:...*gggnh*...neck...splits....*gah*...breaking....vertebrae...*gggg*.... let... go... please... *ghagh*...

Koshka: Anton has many titles. "Irresponsible"..."dipshit"... "nosy"... "rancorous"... "junkie"... "weak, pathetic, self-pitying pussy"... I can go on and on. He almost gets an innocent killed, if not because I stopped him. Makes things... doesn't think until too late... manipulates... gets inside weaker minds... finds who they are.... doesn't have a grasp of how dangerous he is for himself...

    Anton:...*ggg*...no... air... *agh*... mercy...

Koshka: *releases Anton from strangling lock*

    Anton: *GASP!!!* You... you...*gasp*

Koshka: Grandfather is a hard businessman. All his life. He made the family strong. He lost the own while a kid... Red Army invaded his home and massacred almost all of them... they were cossacks. But he got his revenge. And gathered the family again. That's history now. But he doesn't forgive, nor forget. Never has. And doesn't care about anyone who's not family. Lately, he's at odds with his son in law, Leonid. Leonid screwed it, and fled away with his sons... Grandfather's grandsons... he wants them back... I... I don know what to do about it. I can't disobey Grandfather... I can't break my cousins' life apart from their father...

Anton:*gasp* Of course I take the job, Noble Princes! I listened a little about the whole declaration of names and titles, while struggling for my head to not explode! Thank you for that, Koshka! And to correct some of the incredibly inaccurate statements that he has made, let me tell you that I have never been irresponsible in a single case in all of my career! Well, yeah, I live into a hard neighborhood filled with pimps, loan-sharks, and a slaughterhouse not too far away... and almost broke... worthless junkie piece of shit... no! I'm not going down now! Once you sign the release forms, I'll start right away!

Koshka: As I said, I'm already hired. I protect my cousins. And Leonid.

Anton: The Princes wants to hire us both! I'll even give you a cut from it!

Koshka: I don't like tuna sandwiches.

Anton: F...! You don't need to go for your little cousin to Kindergarten yet! We'll get this done fast!

Koshka: Lady Sarah should keep defending tradition. Anyone without tradition is just a dog. I would like a tattoo, someday. But I don't like to fight upfront, sorry to say, though I would like to train some time with the people of Sun Kingdom. To ruin a suit bothers me. A lot. I do business on silence, mostly. They never see it coming. I keep my suit clean. Smoke my pipe. Life is good when you're clean. And your enemies dirty. Many dirtied themselves before I took the business from their heads. Few privileged, to see it when it comes.

Anton: What this pussy meant is that he cares for survival rather that glory. That's the only shit on what we can agree, actually! My work is more... analytical. I provide information to the one who pays for it. Though, I care for my license, and have never broken the law. I'm not a Vigilante, neither, so if you want to get someone bagged, talk to Koshka's grandpa. The "bagging" goes exclusively on account of the client.

Koshka: It's the only thing you got right in all your life. You should learn about nobility. It's like to be anyone around, except you.

Anton: Don't you see how ironic is this, eh? You are a classy, wealthy, cool, self-righteous murdering pussy with God complex and a shitty attitude towards anyone who's not your kin, and I'm a dirty scumbag who hasn't broken a single law in all his life and have, actually, saved a few! Ordinances and petty misdemeanor, well, are another thing... So, we are almost the perfect duo!

    Koshka: Die.

Anton: So, we are ready to begin! Just point the way, and I'll do my "research".

    Koshka: Tuna eater.

    Anton: Shut the f*ck up!

    May: So, Koshka's a...

Sarah: He appears to be an assassin.

    May: Oh, that's nice.

Sarah: Is something wrong, May? You seem out of it.

May: Dunno, just tired, I guess.

Sarah: But you have hardly done anything!

May: *Ignoring Sarah* I'm going to take a nap. See ya later, guys! *Leaves*

Sarah: Oh well, it seems it is my turn to answer on my own.

Arc: You wish. May dragged Jack away for reasons I wasn't told, so now I'm here. I'll take a minute to read up on what's been happening.

Sarah: Oh well. Koshka, I would be delighted to have you, as well as Anton, visit the Sun Kingdom. I am sure Arc would be-

Arc: I would LOVE to fight you!

    Sarah: Indeed.

Beta: This is a lot of information! Interesting powers... and the story behind your tattoos is touching. Why did the rebel group want to control Magisen? What were they hoping to gain by controlling the city? Are the stories of the elemental beasts important in your culture? And - if you don't mind me asking - what exactly happened to JJ?

Alpha: Don't ask such a thing. Forgive my brother, he's overly curious.

    Beta: And you aren't?

Alpha: I have more... sensitive ways of informing myself.

Beta: In any case, Sarah, you are wise to protect tradition. I wish following our own was as easy as waiting for a few years to change title. By the way, how did reclaiming your throne change your rebel group? Since they now support you as a legal ruler, I believe they have ceased to be rebels. Ah, Alpha! Don't forget to talk about your fighting skills. Should I do your bragging for you?

    Alpha: *rolls eyes*

Beta: He is the demon of the charioteers! He fights on a chariot, of course. He has another race champion on the reins, while he takes care of the ugly part.

Alpha: I use arrows for the battle opening, spears for closer combat. I'd rather be the driver than the fighter, in all honesty, but my bow skills are more valuable in the field.

Beta: You should see his balance, though! He once killed three soldiers from a chariot running on a single wheel.

Alpha: I won't brag for taking lives. Isn't it time for you to attend to your other matter?

Beta: Right. I should start by giving you two the info we already have. Thalina, the one who gave me the wine, had been staying in our palace for a few years. She was a political hostage, princess of a neighboring country that our father had conquered. We treated her like a guest, only she wasn't allowed to leave. She was intelligent, beautiful... and kind. I wanted to marry her, or at least take her in as my first concubine. I wanted to work out the political details before talking with her about it. Anyway, that day she came in with some wine to talk and relax. She rarely drank herself, so only I had a glass. But I had to work on some confidential papers, so we didn't chat for long. I collapsed shortly after entering my office - it's the last thing I remember. Alpha came in to ask about the taxes, so he found me lying on the floor. He shouted at the guards to go call the doctors. They carried me to the infirmary, took care of me, but they didn't know if they had saved me or prolonged the inevitable. My siblings took turns standing by my side, along with the guards of course. I had several visitors, but only a few trusted doctors were allowed to come close. Suddenly, uncle Zeta (yes, from the previous generation of princes) comes in the throne room, saying he had witnessed Thalina gathering possible poison ingredients, few days ago. Uncle is a poison expert, as everyone knows, and has a good eye for detail. She was arrested on the spot.
Around that time there was a wider conspiracy going on: it had begun with the assassination of our father. After that, the members of our family had started finding themselves in dangerous, even life-threatening situations. In a higher frequency than usual, I mean. Fortunately, although some framings and accidents took place, no one else died. As if that wasn't enough, our neighbors were growing restless then, too, and our spies reported a rise of the belief they should revolt to regain their freedom. We uprooted a few foreign spies, but they committed suicide before we could learn if the conspiracy was guided by them. However, someone set fire on our ships, which made our suspicions stronger. None of all that was helping Thalina's claim of innocence, since her own nation seemed to conspire against us. On the one side, a war would render her useless as a hostage, but she could be planning an escape. Poisoning me would prove her people that she hadn't grown sympathetic for us. Also, my death would be a hit against the royal family and the economy of the country. But I'd swear that murder doesn't match her character. I'd want to say that her feelings for me seemed sincere, too, but I know I'm biased.

Alpha: She was a cornered politician. I warned you not to trust her.

Beta: I didn't. But I don't believe she'd go that far. Moving forward, investigation turned up some stolen confidential papers in her room, plus some hidden ingredients for poison. She denied knowing how they got there - apart from the flowers and a weed she wanted for cosmetics. The fact that she had brought me wine shortly before I collapsed was also discovered. Alpha was enraged - I were still in a coma - so he threw her in the actual dungeon instead of keeping her confined in her room. The first day of the trial wasn't conclusive, although the tide was clearly against her, so she was returned to her cell. The next day she was found dead, poisoned. It was in her drink. A small empty vial was in her clothes. It was the same thing I were given. The guards and maids who were in the kitchens that day were arrested, but the questioning didn't show something new. The conclusion was that Thalina was a spy, who poisoned me and then committed suicide. That triggered the latest war. We blamed our neighbors for the conspiracy, while they cursed us for allowing their princess to die in our prison. And I had no idea! I were still barely conscious.

Alpha: Don't remind me. You made your poor doctors carry you up as soon as you could voice orders again.

Beta: I found the whole family in the war room, gathered over maps and plans. Naturally, I ask them why are they stepping over the treaty, and what is to become of our hostage, Thalina. Not the best moment in my life.

Alpha: Not the easiest of mine, either.

Beta: Anyway, Anton and Koshka, you can see that this case is rather complex. I hope that you're up for it. Tell me if I left anything uncovered. When you... uh... stop strangling each other. [Author note: drop me an inbox message if you need to "discover" any info the characters don't know]

    Arc: I'll go get May...

Sarah: Yes, you should. She should be the one to talk about JJ's death. Anyway, it is true that, once we dethroned the King and I took the throne, our rebel group ceased being rebels. We broke up. I went to rule the Sun Kingdom, Arc went back to Wild Island, and I ceded a section of the Sun Kingdom for Jack and May to live out the rest of there lives in peace. We still meet from time to time.

    Arc: I've brought them.

    May: ...

Jack: Go on, May, he would want us to tell his story.

May: JJ's death was my fault. You see, the original plan was to train for a year or two and then overthrow the King once we were able to win easily. However, the King attacked me and I retaliated. I was supposed to run, I should've run. If I had run, then he couldn't kill me without causing problems for himself, but I fought back. I wasn't thinking. I was with JJ at the time, and he stepped in, letting me run away. He was as outmatched as I was, and he didn't survive the fight. I'm leaving now.

Jack: I'm sorry about her. It's just... a touchy subject, I'm sure you can see why. I'm, I'm gonna go with her, excuse me.

    *They both leave*

Arc: Damn, she didn't even react to you answering her question. It's been years, she can't keep acting like it was the worst thing in the world.

Sarah: Arc, I now you are accustomed to death, but May is not. At least, she was not when JJ died. You should show some class for once. Beta, you alluded to your tradition being harder to protect than my own. What do you mean by that? Is there some great trial you have to complete?

Fae: Running's overrated anyway. Tradition is overrated, too. A lot of things are overrated.

Sacha: Your bias is showing. *the corners of his lips quirk back, a bare smile that doesn't reach his eyes*

Fae: You rather like it. *he rolls his eyes before smiling* As I was saying, traditions are meant to be broken. I don't see the point in them. I couldn't very well get to where I'm at by following them and I sure as hell couldn't stand what Beta and Alpha have to deal with.

Sacha: Fae... *the name comes out as a breathy sigh, but not truly in chastisement*...you could offer your sympathy to these people. Not everyone is so keen on killing or dying. It's the least you could do after rudely eavesdropping on their conversation.

Fae: Fine, fine. I'll sit back and be a good lil' boy.

Alpha: Sarah, I'm sorry for your loss. I'm accustomed to death too, but I know how it feels to lose a brother-although mine was lucky enough to survive in the end.

Beta: Since you ask, there is a trial. A very major one. As I've mentioned before, to be king one must be named Alpha first. And to be named Alpha, one must go through the great pyramid. In there, the Gods are supposed to judge if the candidate is worthy of ruling the nation. It sounds simple: step in, recover the Mask of Kings from your predecessor, and come out before dawn. But it's actually very dangerous. We lost three uncles before our father succeeded. This system is good in a way, as it lowers the power of the name council over the candidates, but personally I hate it.

Alpha: Don't we all? But the trial exists to prove to everyone that their king has the Gods' support. It's a small price to pay for instant national obedience - absolute obedience, I might add. There's no way around it anyway, people won't follow us if we go against the Gods.

Beta: The Gods, the Gods... Has anyone ever tried to stop this idiocy? I would.

Alpha: Don't be ridiculous. Defy the will of the Gods? That would be chaos. People would riot all over the country. And our political rivals would have a strong argument against us. Bad combination. Not to mention mother's reaction.

Beta (shivers): Ah... good point. Her, I'd rather avoid crossing.

Alpha: And it isn't as tragic as it could be. If - hypothetically - something ever happens to me, you are free to avoid the trial. Gamma and Delta would be thrilled if you passed them on your throne rights.

Beta: And lose my current name and power? Be made to follow Gamma or Delta's orders for life, on the top of it? Throw me in the pyramid and break the key! Ah, Fae, I find your opinions refreshing. Welcome here. Would you two like to tell us something more about yourselves? Where are you from?

Fae: Finally someone appreciates my opinions. *shoots a well-rounded look at Sacha*

Sacha: Ouch. My heart. *he presses the tips of his fingers to his chest with a pained expression*

Fae: *tips a wink to Sacha before his gaze slips away* New Orleans. Not as exciting as a place with pyramids or gods, but we do have sex, drugs, and rock-and-roll.

Sacha: Excuse him. A few too many blows to the head ruined him. As for us, there's little to tell. I run an - ah - organization and he keeps me seeing the next day.

Fae: *a soft laugh lingers in his voice as he speaks before fading off* He's trying to make it sound like I'm a bodyguard. They make honest livings, unlike me. I'm a man-for-hire; your business is my clients' business and if my clients don't like your business... *he spreads his hands and smiles*...well, businesses can end pretty quickly.

Sacha: You make it sound like you do honest work.

Fae: I do no such thing. I like my job as-is.

Sacha: Sure you do. *he teases lightly as he speaks before he looks to Beta* On the subject of jobs, what exactly do you do?

Beta: Apart from being a crown prince? I help Alpha with ruling the country. I'm his second-in-command, so I can represent him in various cases, in peace or war. I'm also a member of both the small and the extended council, as most of my adult siblings. I'm mostly occupied with the financial issues of the kingdom, as my talents lean that way: I oversee the taxes, I'm a keyholder of the royal treasury, I protect the trade routes, organize markets and faires e.t.c. The merchants are quite fond of me, especially after the bandit wars. But a top prince can't be that singular, so I am educated in several other areas, as diplomacy or maths, and use my wide palette of skills to solve a variety of other, usually lesser, issues.
What is that you like in your jobs the most?

Fae: That sounds...complicated. I'll never complain about work again. *he smiles easily* I get paid a shit ton of cash to kill people. It can't get much better than that.

Sacha: *a wince flickers briefly across his face at the less-than-tactful answer from Fae* Traveling. I meet many exotic - *his eyes move to Fae as he says the word before away once more* - people on my travels. Traveling broadens ones horizons and I'm rather fond of learning more about the world.

Fae: He'd follow you to...wherever you're from. Which is...?

Anton: I have sent you a letter with a work proposal, King Alpha and Prince Beta. I'm already having some hypothesis to unravel such heinous act of murder... We will be honored to assist you into your palace.

Koshka: *looks at Fae displeased, as lights his tobacco pipe* Amateurs...

Anton: Don't talk about other people as if you were the Pope, pussy! You should be grateful that someone around even considers to do better than you your hobby!

Koshka: *returns to glare at Anton* You're getting it. Serious.

    Anton:
I got it already. Piss off. Now I would like to say to Lady Sarah, for May to know that... well... everyone screws it up some day, and, it´s not cool when it happens. But you can' t bear a load like that forever. Just hold to the good old times, and give him a thought from now and then... he' s happy when you' re happy around, and will always have your back, and of everyone he loved in life. Trust me on that, I know what I'm saying. Could you please let her know?

Koshka: Go preach your mumbo-jumbo somewhere else, cretin. You are scaring everyone!

Anton: Hehehe... pussy... Is that a drop of sweat on your forehead? Wanna know who' s glaring at you right now?!

    Koshka: Shut up!!!

Anton: And of course, nice to meet you, Fae and Sacha! If you are working around Big City and want to know about who's who, I´ll gladly keep you informed about almost everyone. I´m interested about where I can hear about your last jobs! I mean, just to know about them faster that looking at them by myself. It would save me some time.

Sarah: I appreciate it, Anton, I really do. May, however, does not need encouragement from us. Or, rather, it would not do very much.

Arc: That's what Jack's for. She and May were closer to JJ than we were. We wouldn't be able to help much.

Sarah: Now, Fae, you should not dismiss tradition so readily, how else would we prevent our histories from falling to obscurity? If not for tradition, how would we distinguish who should rule?

Fae: *one eyebrow arches briefly* Amateurs don't get paid for their work and consider it a 'hobby'.

Sacha: We always have something new to learn, Fae. *smirks and turns his attention back to Anton* I don't have a 'last job'; running a business never stops.

Fae: That wasn't the question. *he rolls his eyes* He dabbles in a little of this and a little of that --

    Sacha: -- Fae --

Fae: Business Insider usually has articles about...or the obits. Word-of-mouth is the best go-to. There's an obit about a sweet, kindly gentleman that just came out for my last job. The guy got a bug up his ass about my husband and I very well couldn't have that.

Sacha: Only because you want my money.

    Fae: You're rude.

    Sacha: So I've been told.

Fae: Anyway...Sarah...here, we teach our histories. You can remember something without following it now. 100 years ago I would have found myself in a whorehouse or stoned to death all because of 'tradition'. We elect our leaders every four or so years, at least most places do. It's not perfect, but at least the majority of people will have a leader they think's qualified. *he shrugs* I'd rather deal with someone crappy for four years than for a lifetime.

Sacha: Politics are also good for business; everything is.

Fae: I dunno...Anton seems like he has a direct line to the dead; that might ruin my prospects.

Tyliel: Excuse me, ladies and gentlemen. I am sent by his highness, king Alpha. He and his honored brother, prince Beta, will be needed in the council for a while. They will be back soon. Have a good evening!

Vanna: Hallo! Why don't you stay and chat? There seems to be a lot of things going on at once! Did someone ask Ophelia to perform Dark magic?

Ophelia: They asked me to give a ghost a brain. Well, that's probably illegal, and besides, I've sworn off magic until I leave school, and I've still got another four years to go. Last time it didn't end so well.

Bonnie: Oh, stop acting as though Vanna's a complete disaster!

Vanna: Yes, you could almost think you didn't want me here!

Ophelia: Don't be a twit. You're my first friend.

Jasmine: I thought I was your first friend! You didn't start talking to Vanna until a couple of says later, you just stared queerly at her.

Henrietta: Leaving them to their argument, I must say that the titles were so interesting! I am simply Princesse Maria Henrietta, but you may call me Henrietta. Maria is my sisters' name also. It's not an official title, but my father is sometimes called King Rodolpho the Virtuous, and my mother is The Golden Queen, partly because she is the model woman and partly because of her beautiful golden hair. It is because of her that it has become fashionable in Cavallia to leave one's hair unpowdered, contrary to the rest of Europe. I am sorry for your loss, Beta. Perhaps I could help a little. I helped solve a murder back home when a guest was found dead.

Anton: Nice to meet you, Tyliel. I'll be waiting for the royal invitation to their palace. Meanwhile, I suggest you make a brief meditation about your latests activities around, and hope you like to answer questionnaires. Bye!

    Koshka
:*still looking at Fae displeased, while smoking* Double amateur...

Anton: I must say it saddens me to hear that, Ophelia. I understand your commitment, though, and wont push into the matter, but... maybe to find a way for giving to my little haunter a broad, big hat, like an Ushanka? That would settle this business, for the moment. Dammit, If you convince him to wear a bed sheet would settle it greatly...

Koshka: Princess Henrietta, I would like to check on your Palace's decor some day. Beauty interests me. Even more than wealth. Never understood why to powder a hair. Counterproductive. Spend hundreds of bucks to keep mine each month. Lustrous and silky. A pony tail is in order for the business... *looks askance to Fae* no hobbies for me *returns to look at Henrietta*. Anton Nevsky would only like your mirrors... to cut his shit before sniffing it. He's unworthy of beauty.

Anton: For your information, High Princess Lyaksandro of Chernobyl, I can enjoy beauty as any other people! My tie is Italian!

Koshka: The one you fixed a coffee stain by immersing it whole into the coffee cup the other day? That one you store with your dirty underwear on the rat-hole you call office? That one you ARE wearing in front of the princess today?

Anton: How the heck could you even possibly know where I store my shit, eh?!

Koshka: I smell it. Disgusting f*ck.

Anton:... don't be a prick, Koshka... I would love to know about your investigative skills, lady Henrietta, and how you caught the wretched malefactor, unkind to your hospitality! I'm sure that he got a fitting end to his criminal venture... do you hold some sort of log or chronicle about your investigative adventures? That would be really lovely to see!

    Koshka
: I'd rather watch a fight from Arc. Check if his skill keeps the pace of his mouth. Wonder if you have a bet system on Sun Kingdom' s arena. I like to make investments. Never have taken down any army by myself. Sad to recognize. Chapayev's army was not army at all. Only wailing, walking meat bags. Wonder about Arc's favorite approach tactics. Mine is, turn your opponent's head into bologna sauce. Question the agonizing wounded until dies. Keep the suit clean. Comb your hair often. Use expensive cologne. You don't want to reek from dead people for too long. Burn evidence, even if still lives. Don't litter. Be Eco-friendly.

    Anton: I am Eco-friendly too!

Koshka: I do it being responsible with environment. You do it being human compost.

Anton: ... pussy, to be honest, you're ugly.

Koshka: Hope you die in a fire.

Sarah: Bologna sauce? What is bologna?

Arc: Doesn't matter. I'm all riled up now.

Sarah: Well, while there is no formal betting system yet, May suggested we implement one so I am working on it. I can assure you that Arc moves just as fast as his mouth.

Arc: I'm fast. If you're fast enough to not get hit, you can't lose. That does, however, mean I'm not as physically strong as Jack or May, who would rather hit hard than avoid getting hit. Sarah like to call me a brute, but I actually rely more on skill than brute strength.

Sarah: Honestly, I do not know why you would want to watch Arc fight, when I put on a much better show when I fight.

Arc: Because some people actually understand that fighting isn't supposed to be fun, it's a test of skill and a way of survival. Honestly, whenever I watch one of your "fights", it makes me sick. We both know those are only as long as they are because you're more concerned with entertaining people than winning.

    Jack: May fights for fun.

Arc: Yeah, she makes me sick as well.

    Sarah: Jack, you have returned.

Jack: Yeah, May wanted some space, I think she just needs to be alone with her own thoughts for a while. Anyway, I believe that Koshka should come watch some of the arena fights. It's a way of sharing our cultures with each other.

Sarah: But, how would we get him here? Perhaps one of the magic users?

Jack: Nah, I've read what you guys were saying, and I don't think that'll work.

Arc: We'll just go to them.

Sarah: The problem still stands. Just let the intelligent people think of ideas.

Arc: I'm gonna kick your ass, Lady...

Fae: *he eyes Koshka back with some amusement on his features* You lack finesse. Bologna sauce, really?

Sacha: Interesting. I have yet to be in a room with this many people skilled in fighting and with different views. *he twines his fingers slowly through a loose strand of Fae's hair, an old habit that dies hard*

Fae: Why does fighting have to only be about 'survival and skill'? *his gaze slips away from Koshka to Arc as he speaks* Why can't fun be included in that little equation? I would much rather enjoy my work than do it because it's a test. Besides, there's nothing more boring than watching a fight where the people don't have fun while engaging their opponent.

Jade: We don’t always disappear, but when we do, the other people send, like, 25 messages.

    Sapphire: …what?

Cara: Jade. Jade, we talked about this. No meme-ing around the medieval gays.

Kathryn: Is that what we are now? Medieval gays?

Cara: I mean, it fits, right?

    Kathryn: Fair point.

Isabel: How about we just let this play out? I’m not sure we want to get involved, from what I can tell.

    Jade: Works for me.

Koshka: *too expensive cellphone beeps at pocket* Kindergarten time's over for little cousin. Must go for Mihail. A pleasure to meet you. Most of you.

*Koshka leaves the room, smoking his pipe*

Anton: *looking to Fae with a smile* Well, you managed to piss off the narcissistic pussy... I salute you! Surely you make all sort of friends and acquaintances on your trade, eh? To be honest, I can' t do shit on the fighting stuff, and mostly I just enjoy to drive mad to nasty people. That's really funny to watch! You see, there was this Japanese guy selling sushi on my neighborhood the other day, that... bah, never mind. Never had to hurt badly anyone, really, since few people on my neighborhood dares to piss off a dude carrying a .40 with license for it. But, now that we are being confident, well, there are some people who surely needs a little of lead on their dietary. If I can avoid a death, then cool. If not, well, what a shame. What reminds me... *looks at Cara* did I hear something about medieval gays? Oh, by the way, I'm Anton, private detective, nice to meet you. And you are from...?

Beta: Hello everyone. I'm back. These war councils will be the end of me, I swear! Alpha is still stuck there... the downsides of being a king. Let me catch up quickly - I'll be brief this time, I need to get some sleep. Where are we from? The kingdom of Kem-Desret: vast golden deserts, crystal-blue rivers, great cities where science and education thrive... but we are often plagued with wars, usually with our neighboring kingdom of Metina. Our charioteers and swordsmen are among the best in the world. You may also find interesting our air fields, where wheat grows in the air, or our intricate multi-colored appearance.
Henrietta, your proposal is quite interesting. I have already employed Anton and Koshka for the case, but I don't exactly trust that they won't draw all attention. Perhaps you, as a royal, could help in the more sensitive parts of the investigation. I'll talk with them about it, and I'll send you a note if you are still interested. What happened with the murder case you mentioned? I am very interested.

Jade: …why do I get the feeling that we seriously do not belong here?

Cara: We probably don’t. Or maybe that’s just anxiety talking. I don’t know.

Kathryn: What’s even going on here?

Sapphire: I have absolutely no idea.
