The first thing that came to my mind is 'what???'. Maybe I'm not clever and need to learn stuff like: what is a Sigourney Weaver? That reminds me of that meta episode of that show Supernatural where Sam and Dean were transported to an alt dimension where they were just actors on some show called Supernatural and Sam learned his name is actually Jared Padalecki and he said "I'm something called a Jared Padalecki." This just gave me an idea for a thread, but I'm gonna have to see if anyone already did it first. To the search bar I go.
I don't think I've actually seen that or The Year of Living Dangerously, but in my memory they came out about the same time, and I was too young to see either.
Given that The Year of Living Dangerously is a romantic drama about a love affair set in Indonesia during the overthrow of President Sukarno, and Streets of Fire is rock 'n' roll fable about a soldier come back from... somewhere to find bikers have kidnapped his rockstar ex-girlfriend, they're practically the same thing. In all honesty, Streets of Fire is an awful movie, and I love it ever so much. Plus, Willem Dafoe plays the bad guy!
Some poster art similarity: 1982, 1984, too young for either.... But only horseshoes and hand grenades close.
Those posters a very red.... an so naturally, the first thing I though of as I saw these two posters as "Communist meets the 'Times' magazines and does a remake of "I'm too sexy" and "Fast & Furious". Edit: That actually sounds like a half decent novel idea.
Okay, this is really horrifying, even in the sanitized version, so I'm gonna spoiler-wrap it. No sarcasm, nasty things to be contemplated ahead. Spoiler: That's gotta hurt In 2009, a woman was airlifted to the hospital after she was injured in an incident involving a sex toy attached to a saber saw blade...
