    Bad Writing Advice Videos

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by Stormburn, Feb 10, 2018.

I found this channel on YouTube. I find it insightful and humorous. It satires down all the bad writing tropes that we've come to know and love. The videos are short, funny and to the point.

I love this guy. I found him a few months ago, and I was hooked instantly.

That was funny. I'm writing an intrigue plot right now, and it's the hardest plot I ever did.

EDIT: This was originally an OP.

Can't believe no one has posted these videos before now... there are something like twenty on his channel, and every one is worth watching.

    Eh? What do you think?

I love this guy. I've been watching him for a couple months now, and his videos are great. I believe someone else mentioned/posted about his videos on here, but I'm not 100% sure :p

Ehh. His use of the Awesome Face triggers me pretty hard and I don't exactly find the videos very funny. Several minutes of ironic sarcasm that paints only very basic points isn't entertaining to me.

lament in my negative criticism hahaah aha aha everyone is shit but me ahahahha ahahhaha

The one about how all beta readers are stupid and wrong about everything had me in stitches.

Pretty funny, though the "writer's block" one I found pretty silly as it just perpetuates the myth that "writer's block doesn't exist" and that the "cure" for it is to "just write anyway" which shows a lack of understanding of how the human mind works.
Not that there's anything to do about that myth as it's so ingrained now.
