Awake since I foolishly thought sleeping early was a good idea. Body is used to only getting four or two hours of sleep nowadays. Unsure if that's good or bad, only time will tell I suppose, but since I'm up, might as well do something constructive. Might write a bit, read a little, game a little (the opposite of constructive). Stupid sleep cycles.
I’m not finished with KitKats yet. When I was at school we used to have a vending machine that served five bar KK. They weren’t available in the shops, but back then the chocolate on KK was gorgeous - more like Cadbury’s than Nestles. Now the chocolate on them tastes like that cheap nasty stuff they have to call chocolate ‘flavour’ because it doesn’t contain the regulated amount of cocoa solids, or like a bar from your great grannie’s cupboard left over from WWII.
Just finished (another) revision of my opening scene, and now I'm letting the little grey cells recuperate before going back to what I'm now referring to the Chapter From Hell. Might also be called returning to the scene of the crime...something like that. It's that same troublesome chapter I've been working on for a couple of weeks now. Aaaaaand I just paused to dust my desk, because it badly needed it.
Wrote a couple of poems today. Nothing fancy or worth sharing, but that was fun. Gonna write a tad bit right after some late lunch.
Taking a stroll down memory lane with some music from my teenagedom. Also debating if I could write a story for a certain someone...
Listening to thunder and watching lightening streak across the sky out the window. Also, considering baking a few chocolate chunk cookies.
That actually sounds really nice. Love the feeling of being cozy and dry inside your home with tea, a blanket, and your computer and writing a story while listening to rain and thunder outside.
It was a dark and stormy night, and she was considering baking cookies while sipping her tea. The thought tempted her so, that she relinquished to the thought. She began mixing the dough just as thunder rumbled her house. She smiled and began placing the balls of dough on the pre-greased cookie sheet. After popping the metal sheet into the oven, she relaxed back into her cup of tea. The rain came down steady and heavily on the roof. It soothed her mind, while the delightful scent of the baking cookies taunted her nostrils delightfully.
Right now it's just thunder all around as the storms roll in. Hoping rain arrives soon. The cookies are in the oven, though!
I love Cookie Monster. I confess to sitting at my desk watching old Cookie Monster skits on YouTube... The really early ones especially. And there's an episode of Martha Stewart that absolutely kills me every time I watch it. And his NPR interview. Yeah, I'm a fan.
"Woke last night to the sound of Thunder. How far off I sat n wondered. Started hummin a tune from 1962... strange how the night moves" - GT
Multitasking. I just gave the opening scene another pass, there's a load of towels in the dryer, a sink full of dishes is soaking in the kitchen, and I'm wondering what I'll have for lunch. Maybe I'll make lemony egg salad?
Currently chugging an energy drink to attempt to stay awake at work. Sleep is, apparently, important for us humans. Who knew?
I have recently discovered that if I get no sleep at all for one night, I become an overly emotional fuckwit!
