I love Junji Ito. I’ve mostly just read all the oneshots, short stories, ect, though. I’ve never read any of the series.
Gardening today! Ripping up one garden bed (in the backyard) and adding a new garden bed (out front). Lots of hauling dirt, digging, ect. It’s such satisfying work. It’s the end of the season, which means lots of garden centers have plants on clearance. I got two white spireas, two old-fashioned roses, three phlox, some red peonies, and some daylilies. But I still need one dark purple clematis, which I can’t find anywhere.
You're like the Walter Winchell or Cholly Knickerbocker of loft living...You need one of those delightfully named 1930's/40's gossip columns, like Home with Homes or Homes at Home. ETA: Definitely Winchell. Cholly Knickerbocker only reported on society, such as the Vanderbilt twins, I think.
FYI I am now reading “Tomie” because of this post. This is really good. This was his first work??? Dang
Sitting on my bed drinking my first cup of morning coffee. And yawning. There is much yawning. Got a lot of that problem chapter righted during my insomnia last night, though!
Congrats. I did some brainstorming with CT to get passed some troubled spots, I also did some scenario break down, asking myself questions, writing out how the scene could go and which path worked the best...
I'm unsure if it's his first work, but man is it great horror. His detailed drawings and, sometimes gross stories make for fun night time reading. I think his first work might've been Uzumaki, though, again, unsure.
As for what I'm doing right now...choking and coughing as I foot the bill for the flight and two week stay in Tokyo. V_V Edit: 77,000 yen for a ten day stay....no meals included...hm.
So... less than 8000 yen a night for your hotel? In Tokyo? That's a damn good deal, I consider anything under 15000 for a hotel room to be a bargain, and that's Osaka.
Sitting in the desert equiv of a hurricane, and drinking a beer since it works with the heavy rains and gale force winds.
Supervising the unloading of all my stuff here at my new house! At last, I'll have a proper bed! I'm already sitting in my proper chair! It looks like I'm going to have to spend the next month unpacking boxes. First up: my kitchen. I can't use my kitchen without getting all my gear out. It's restaurants for me until I get all my kitchen stuff organized.
I just realized something... You know how in all the ‘inspirational disabled person’ movies, the able-bodied are often ignorant, clueless jerks? Aren’t these movies offensive to BOTH parties? It suggests that: • the disabled exists only to inspire the abled-bodied. This is the obvious offense that’s prevalent in the movie. • All able-bodied people are clueless jerks who are apparently incapable of seeing the human being within. That they’re so stupid that they need said disabled person to open their eyes and see the light. I mean, I’m half-blind and half-deaf, but even I’m a bit uncomfortable with the message when looking at it from the POV of the able-bodied.
Spending another day in bed. Not in the fun and exciting way, though. My cold switched things up and now my breakfast is on all time threatening to grace the carpets around here. Maybe I'm part cat... @LostThePlot is the only thing keeping my spirits up even slightly!
meanwhile LTP is thinking "ah my evil plan is working... one more day and then I can harvest her organs Mwha hah hah ha" *strokes fluffy white cat*
Waiting for a train into London. I can barely speak, but I'm not missing Bianca Del Rio for anything! Hope for the latest painkillers to live up to their names
Had I gone to Devon I'd miss out on about ten days of adventurous sex before getting sick. Think this might be worth it.
