¿How to create autobot and decepticon casts?

Discussion in 'Character Development' started by Alphacharizard, Jul 19, 2018.

I’m working on a transformers fan fiction and I’m stuck on deciding the casts of both autobots and decepticons. I have already casts for both factions but I don’t feel completely satisfied with none of them.

The concepts what I want to manage for the autobots is that instead of being survivors or soldiers (like is usual) they will be more like Animated where they are no ones. They receive some kind of super powers by the Allspark and must learn how to use and develop them and also overcome their flaws. Also I wanting this series to be a chrisitan story (a catholic one to be more precise) like Lord of the Rings and it would be fine if the reader could learn something from each of the autobots (for example, starting asking himself about his actions or purpose in the life)

The decepticons will be like Transformers Prime where they are a full warship (obviously the cast will receive more attention).

The autobots crashed on Earth while the decepticons crashed on the moon. Both factions are isolated from the rest of the alien community, so they can’t request reinforcements.

The casts that I have are these:

    · Optimus Prime: He is not the leader of the autobots. He is a janitor who was a soldier in his youth. Optimus will be heroic but needs to learn how to deal with the others autobots (the new generations).

    · Hot Rod: With desires of greatness but clumsy, impatient and naïve.

    · Bumblebee: He doesn’t have memories about his past (neither his own name). Naively kind.

    · Hoist: The big fat guy who is kind and doesn’t want to harm others. Maybe considering making him naïve but that would mean being repetitive with Bumblebee.

    · Ratchet: The grumpy medic.

    · Sideswipe: A hot head autobots who enjoys hassle others (especially Ratchet and Redshot). He doesn’t have the desires for greatness of Hot Rod. Instead he just wants to live the moment.

    · Redshot: a minicon nerd who was once part of the Elite Guard, but ended with the others by accident and Sideswipe became his partner (now both must learn how to work together). The name is temporal (I don’t decide the official name yet).

    Later additions:

    · Grimlock: He won’t be a stupid caveman, but neither kind. Arrogant, aggressive and solitary. He doesn’t seem mercy, but strength and effectiveness. He will see Optimus as a soft leader. There’s no retreat, just victory.

    Decepticons:

    · Megatron: The supreme ruler of the decepticons. Cruel, arrogant, astute and sometimes manipulative.

    · Starscream: ok, I have a little problem with Starscream, but maybe I’ll ask for that later. Basically I plan him to be like his Armada version (I’m currently watching Transformers Armada, so I can understand him better).

    · Barricade: a lone wolf loyal to Megatron and the decepticons, but also capable of notice when Megatron is taking a bad decision (and tries to correct him with respect).

    · Bludgeon: A manipulative and strong veteran decepticon. He doesn’t allow himself to underestimate his opponents, but he is capable of analyzing them and the situation very well so he is usually confident.

    · Soundwave: The loyal spy of Megatron. He doesn’t speak too much.

    · Brawl: the strong guy of the decepticons. He enjoys destruction, and despite not being dumb his performance in combat is reduced when he is triggered.

    · Rumble and Frenzy: Soundwave’s minicon servants. They are twins who enjoys breaking things but, unlike Brawl, they are stupid. The others tends to confuse who is who so they usually call them with the wrong names (to play with the FIRRIB thing).

    · Knock Out: Vain and sarcastic, like his Transformers Prime version.

    · Shadowpunch: A silent and mysterious agent loyal to Megatron. Like Redshot, the name is temporal.

    · Fellbat: like Hot Rod but in decepticon. He is clumsy and pretends to be a great threat, but is just the comedy element. I want him to have a relation with Starscream similar to the one between Starscream and Knock Out in Transformers Prime.

I’m also considering adding Ironhide and Onslaught to their respective factions, but I feel that I’m putting too much characters on the autobots, and for Onslaught I intend him to be Megatron’s left hand, but I’m feeling that his personality is repetitive with Barricade and Soundwave.

Any suggestions? Thank you and sorry if my English is bad (I’m Mexican and I’m still learning).
