There's a highway in Hawaii called the Likelike. Pronounced "Licky-licky." There is a tunnel along its route, but we were never able to find a Fukisuki or Hershey...
There is a desert highway in California, which has a sign (at some point) for a religious retreat. The very middle of the sign reads: "Phuc Bich". Still there as far as I know.
This reminds me of Pirates of The Caribbean-Dead Man's Chest: "More licky-licky!" I like those films to an unhealthy degree.
I have lost count of how many times I have watched them, and I think that one is my overall favourite of that trilogy. I am particularly fond of the musical lockets.
Bill Nighy almost stole the show! It's amazing how many strong characters worked so well in those! He was a hair dresser in an austrailian film, as I recall, and he was Lord Viktor in Underworld.
I was invited to sing the National Anthem at the grand opening of the new training center for the sheriff's office I work for. It's tomorrow. I'm excited, but also starting to get really nervous.
Don't be nervous @Stormsong07, no. I take that back be nervous, feel what you feel. Let the feelings pass through you and feel good about singing a grand opening! Amazing really, I have a friend who is a singer did the same thing at a baseball game she was invited to sing at, she has a beautiful voice too. Wish I was there to hear you sing I know you have a beautiful voice. If you get a sunburn I'll help cool it with my body too mmk? Get a sunburn so I can cool it with my cold body. On purpose. Use some sunblock tho I want to protect that perfect skin of yours until my fangs come calling. *licks my fangs @Stormsong07*
My little black kitten just stomped on my keyboard in passing and precisely, with his baby foot, typed "666" before moving on. I'm ... so proud of him ... Truly he is my son.
My friend sold me his PS4, two games, a TV, and 2 controllers for a really good price. Currently waiting for Bloodborne to finishing downloading.
My Dad replied to the email I talked about in the not happy thread. He is at a loss that I would want to cut out my mother, but he wants me to stay in touch. Even if it is just to say where I've moved to. I had been facing the possibility that I couldn't have a relationship with him and not have my mother in the picture. I've never been so happy to have been wrong.
@S A Lee I'm so glad it's working out! Sorry to hear about being kept from going to your uncle's funeral (bleeding over from the Not Happy thread).
My teenage son bought a new mountain bike yesterday. We tried to dissuade him from taking going hard out with it to no avail (teenagers!). This morning, he predictably crashed it and ended up in hospital. Just grateful nothing was broken, just scratched up and damaged ligaments. He'll be back in the saddle in a couple of weeks.
Great game that is! Some really infuriating parts, but you'll enjoy that one (If you love a challenge!)
And my own Happy thing, mixed with Unhappy... I was meant to be going 4 hours West this weekend to spend time with my family, go to a carnival, and have a few drinks out, however I've had a real bad week with my IBS... it's the worst it's ever been, so whilst I am likely to have to cancel, I have the extended blu ray DvD of all three Lord of the Rings to keep me company whilst I chill out on the couch resting!
Bloodborne is my 2nd favorite game ever. I envy you if this is the first time you get to experience it!
No more pencils No more books No more students' Dirty looks SCHOOL'S OUT FOR THE SUMMER! And on a side note, I'll be in the Chicagoland area for a couple weeks midsummer, anyone who doesn't absolutely loathe me and will be in the same area, would like to get a glass of tea (or whatever), drop me a PM and we'll see what can be arranged.
I got to finish early because it was the last day before summer. I will be in next week but it'll be reduced hours. My contract is 40 weeks but term time is 39
It's the first time I've actually played it, but I spoiled most of the lore and enemy designs years ago when I read TV Tropes every day*, so it's not a completely blank playthrough. The opening cutscene is still pretty horrifying, though *Note to self: stop reading spoilers for games you haven't played yet
I just saw the live action Titans trailer. It looks awful, like pure cringe. I'm laughing like a crazy person in my car right now over all these beautiful tweets. I can't wait to get a whole bunch of people together to binge the show; that will be the best way to ensure I get the absolute most out of the experience. I will pay the $8 for a month's subscription to the DC streaming service for this purpose alone. I really shouldn't reward studios for putting out terrible content, but I am such a sucker for trainwrecks. . .
It's my birthday tomorrow. Although I place practically no importance on this day, this one took on some significance. It's my first birthday on my own, since breaking up with who felt at the time like my soul mate last year, and then the crazy relationship with the Terrifying Stalker from Hell(TM) this year. I thought this birthday was going to be really tough, and I'd spend it how I spent last Christmas (drinking red wine in a foetal position [a logistical feat, if slightly undignified]). What's actually going to happen is the following. I'm getting up and going round to my ex's house (the nice one, the ex soul mate, don't worry, I'm not doing The Bad Thing). We're going to have breakfast together and I'm picking up the dog. I'm then going to spend 3 hours in the park with a massive group of friends I've made this past year to play Pokémon Go together. Then I'm going out for lunch with the Nice Ex as it was his birthday last weekend and I didn't get to see him. Then on Sunday, I'm going on a date at the zoo with a lovely guy I've been seeing, and then he's coming back to mine to stay over. So what could have been a lonely reminder of everything that I've lost this past year has turned into a lovely reminder of what I've managed to keep, and what I've gained subsequently.
I think it’s still gonna be great cos you get to learn the combat and weapons, so there’s plenty of new stuff ahead. It’s one of those games I just can’t get bored with, and I keep returning to it time and again. Only eclipsed by Dark Souls, but that’s also because it has sentimental value to me, being the game that turned me into a gamer - for better or worse.
