I've never read maximum ride befor, but I do love James Patterson. I had no idea he had made some young adult fiction. That's wild to me, im going to have to check them out next time I go to the book barn.

    But your Fanfiction.

I like the amount of belief systems you have put in the story in between the two boys. Characters personality is brought out by beleif, so that could be interesting. And I also like the fact that there are tribes of bird kids.. "The angels" and "the birds". Very cool duelism going on there...

The only problem I see, apart from the dramafied politics which I'm guessing are an actual part of the series, is there is no clear reason as to why maxwell would call Axelabs. Why would a person searching for world peace call an organization of chaos? That seems pretty radical, specially over a petty dislike of somebody. Might want to give some reasoning as to how/why he is willing to stoop so low. Whether it be with an emotional diolouge, or internal monolouge, or whatever.. Smooth over the bump of change...

And what's up with the docters? What do they have to do with anything?

I believe it's his most famous series of the genre. He has two others, Witch and Wizard and Daniel X, to my knowledge.

Good question about Maxwell. I figured it would be tied to his future. He wants to desperately prove to his father that he can make it. He has a lot of pride, as does his father. I suppose I could throw in a bit about his father going to cut funding for Maxwell's education if he doesn't prove himself a worthy bard? Deep down though I think it's just an emotional wound. I've changed these characters names to protect the innocent, but these characters would be indeed Korean, so Maxwell's dad would be the traditional Korean dad, not believing his son could make it with his non-conventional dreams. So since childhood he's been haunted by every choice he makes, and making the wrong one would just cement his belief that he's a failure. He tries to fight the fact that he believes this by behaving like a macho guy, but he's sensitive - it's part of him. Does that make it better?

And I wasn't sure about the doctors, either. I figured them to be a side part of the story. It's part of the actual Maximum Ride plot (at least most of it). I kind of wanted it to be "what happened before the story happened" and have it continue as the story did, because that's how I read you should write. Overall I want the story to focus on Maxwell and James.

And I didn't explain it clearly, but James lies to comparatively innocent Maxwell, who believes anything because he's a good Christian. This is not necessarily an insult to Christians, just that from what I understand, they have an unwavering belief most of the time for their Lord. If he sees proof that there's an angel, he's going to believe that one exists. So James takes advantage of that. What's a lie? What's truth? Are there elements of each in both? Did that help clarify?

I guess. Maxwell has some sort of emotional issues because of his parentage... that could be a perfectly legitimate claim to some irrational behavior...

took awhile for the response, you must be done with the story by now huh?

No. I was still working on another story, the plot of which is linked in my signature. I stopped because I couldn't get the story to work. I don't want to work on multiple at once because I'm still an amateur, though many like me do.
I wish I was done :bigfrown: And now I'm worrying someone will steal the story idea I mentioned above, in this post. Ahh... But thank you for replying.
