Anyone got a beta code for Fallout 76 on Ps4? Would be cool having some writing forum members in the world to play with.
I have the PC version, do you think it's cross-platform or probably not. I do have it reserved the PS4 version but I'm canceling that since I got the PC version
Knowing Sony? Nope. Xbox one would most likely have cross-platform though...which doesn't help my Xbox-less position, haha. Speaking of PC, my one old broke but this mod for NV makes me want to buy another one. You seen this?
Between the Wii U and 2DS, I have access to all three Metroid Prime games, Fusion, Zero Mission, Super Metroid, Samus Returns, and the original NES game. Might purchase Hunters and Pinball again too for the sake of completion. Just a matter of buying enough storage now.
To my surprise I am enjoying the Switch not so much for the big tentpole Nintendo franchises, the Marios and Zeldas, but rather for all the little retro-inspired indie games. I've never actually owned a handheld system before so I guess I'm just discovering how well games like that work in a mobile format. At the moment I'm loving Hollow Knight. Nothing like a really great metroidvania to make me feel like I'm 13 years old again.
I’ve been thinking about getting Hollow Knight once I finish my current crop of games. Have like 12 of them left to complete.
Don't know how many of you game on a tablet, but you have to give Granny a go if you do. It's genuinely unsettling.
I don't think that they've quite grasped the fact that, if you don't have cross-play in your games, you're not creating diehard fans for your system. Instead, you're creating a scenario where people will choose to use a different system so that they can play with their friends. I guess Sony is still laboring under the delusion that the only people that play video games are shut-in nerds with no friends!
Cause they're anti-fun and want to give Microsoft a new customer. I'm thinking of just switching my pre-order to PC and buying a new rig now. Not just for the cross-play reasons, either. Need some mods to replay FO4.
I'm finding it an impressive example of the genre. It doesn't do anything particularly new - really, it follows the Metroid formula very closely - but every element is super polished. The controls are ridiculously tight and responsive (which is good because the game throws some fairly serious platforming challenges at you). The graphics and music are thematically consistent, and it has that lonely, melancholy tone of the best metroidvanias. And the game does a fantastic job at encouraging exploration: whenever I revisit areas I've been to, even if I'm just passing through on my way to somewhere else, I nearly always stumble onto some new area I haven't seen before and am usually rewarded with a meaningful upgrade. I know that's the trademark of the genre but this one just does an especially good job at it.
I've been playing tons of Stardew Valley on the Switch lately. Just about at the end of my first winter, looking forward to my first big spring harvest so I can upgrade my coop and get some more animals -- and looking forward to planning out some big new fields with sprinklers! I've been to the bottom of the mines, unlocked the quarry and minecarts, and got my house upgraded once, so I'm unduly proud of my progress. I've accidentally become best friends with Linus and I'm in the process of wooing Maru, but it's a ways off yet. Honestly, this game has just been a great time-filler when I'm too tired to function but too achy to sleep, but now that I'm feeling better I realize I actually am genuinely enjoying it a lot.
Brought Kingdom Come Deliverance. Here's hoping its not the buggy mess it was upon release....also hoping I can at least feel like a knight from Monty Python and the holy grail.
I find this thread interesting, in that it highlights the gaming habits of those with a literary bent. From my observations it seems the majority of those people are A, PC gamers. And B, playing indie and fantasy/MMORPG titles over the commercial AAA games. I seem to be just about the only exception to the rule.
Kingdom come deliverance was about as fun watching grass grow then glitch through the floor, shoot to the sky and into the vastness of space. Gave it to my brother since...yeah, fuck that. Picked up Fallout 4 again. Shooting raiders is pretty fun, I must say. Building is also more addicting than I remember....
Goddammit. I forgot to switch my pre-order for Fallout 76 to PC...mainly cause my current one can't even run New Vegas on ultra low settings. But Sony, wtf.
Update/patch. As in to 'patch any errors and/or bugs' Ah! Hold on, I suspect you weren't asking, but questioning how a patch can be this size. Okay then it's an update, but it does include fixes.
But they do call them patches. When you want to see what's been added/fixed, you search for patch notes.
And first-person mode is in! My only hope now is that they've given us the option to disable all the HUD crap.
