How can I write this seduction scenario, character development wise?

Discussion in 'Character Development' started by adam robbin, Sep 23, 2018.

In my story, which I have talked about before on here before. Now that I have made a lot of changes, I was wondering how the villain should be portrayed in this way... She is a serial rapist/killer and the reason of how she came to be that way, is because she is lonely and treated inferior by men all her life growing up, to the point where she snapped.
There could be more to it as well, but since her character is more mysterious, the entire backstory is not disclosed to the reader, like many villains. But she targets men she cannot get, who reject her. So basically she will do all she can to get a guy, fail, then that sets her off, to target him. But I am sure how to write her failed attempts. When it comes to a woman getting a man, they do not have to try very hard to get a man interested. I am not saying that to stereotype, but it's kind of true to a large degree. If a woman goes to a night club, and asks any guy to come back to her place, I bet she would have not go through more than five, that capture her interest, for example. So with this in mind, does anyone have any ideas as to how can I write it so that she fails in a plausible way, in which the reader will buy into it, for when she reaches her breaking point?

I was going to say welcome to the forum, but I see you've been here before? Well, welcome back, whoever you were! :)

Are you asking, basically, why your protagonist fails to get men interested in her? (So she can then go on a killing spree?) In other words, are you asking if she's going about it the wrong way?

You say she targets men she cannot get. Do you mean she deliberately goes out looking for faithful married men, priests, whatever? Or do you mean she targets all sorts of men, but they're not interested?

Think about why they're not interested. What does she do that puts them off? That's probably your key here.

Oh, dear God, it's you again?

If you want to push your "incel" nonsense and try to justify rape, do you REALLY have to demand that other people participate? Why can't you just do it on your own?

TMW you google "incel." Followed by TMW you wonder how we ever evolved beyond the caves.

And it appears that the premise hasn't changed one tiny little bit.

Huh. And Ryan wasn't banned; looks like that account is still active. So could this new person be here in the hope that, without the history, people will be slow to figure out what he's really proposing?
