Those rats seem lovely. They have such a stigma to them but there lovely creatures.

Today should be mostly editing intertwined with house worj.

We tried so hard, and got so far.

But in the end, it didn't really matter!

Afraid not! I have a terrible memory for music, as far as what a track was named and whom it's by. I like listening to it though. I just remember Linkin Park from the school days. Along with Green Day, Evanescence, MCR, Metallica, etc

FYI I am a fan of Evanescence, Linkin Park, RHCP and many others. Also like a bit of Metallica.

Drinking my second cup of half-caff* and listening to Stevie Wonder's "As" while I wake up...only now when I hear this song all I think of is Prince's funeral. Ugh. Next song!

ETA: *half-caff because it takes me a while to wake up. I am soooo not a morning person.

"Half-caff" is Red Bull with only one shot of espresso mixed in, right?

That's probably what I need! But not even that would turn me into a morning bird, so it's my usual mix of leaded dark roast Costa Rican and unleaded medium roast Gevalia House Blend.

edited because "blend" did not need to appear twice in one sentence.

Just opened the store, now I'm waiting for all the Starbucks guzzling parents dropping kids off at the daycare center next door to clear out of my parking.

My roomie is here visiting before he goes back to California. Our new house is stuffed with strange modern technology (the original owner/builder is an electrician and loaded the place down with every newfangled feature he could think of) and there's no manual. My roomie and I feel a bit like we have commandeered a Russian nuclear submarine and all the instructions are in Russian - incomprehensible to us. So the original owner is going to be here in a half hour to help us figure out what he was thinking when he built the place. Roomie and I are preparing our minds to be blown by his godlike presence.

Sounds like you bought the guys magnum opus of a house. Good luck with you`r highly advanced bunker. Let us know if there` any really cool features....like defense turrets.

Getting annoyed at my puny laptop. Had a nice enough set up but that crashed while we were strapped for crash so got a cheap little replacement for it. First world problems and I don`t normally complain about it, it works well enough for what it needs to do but working with these big image files and programs to edit them it keeps freezing up and annoying me.

Almost October in a few days, months almost up. Next few days gonna be doing what I refer to as working on my Magnum Opus`s for the month. Which really just a fancy way of me saying all the big projects I`ve been procrastinating this month. Cutting out distractions (I mean these forums but gotta have some escape) and for today working on photo editing, planning a exhibit (very small in a tax office of all places), creating a poster board for a community arts center I work with, and prepping things for a haunted house I`m working at. All of which needs to be done today because I need it Thursday to use it. That`ll be a long day than Friday, I`ll still need to work up photos from a dog show I did, and prep a photo for a group exhibit I`ve been forced into. My studio`s not even set up yet, so that`ll require strewing things about my room. Saturday is then the intake for the exhibit, and Sunday`s church and crash

But excuse my rambling, what i`m I doing right now? Dreading, the workload of my own making. Someone remind me to mange my time better next month. Also considering loading up on Jolt cola. Sure that`s probably a horrible thing to do to my body but hey at least it`s with a classic. On the other hand there is other more personal things going on and I don`t fully mind having work to toss my mind into.

My dad's old house had been owned by an electrician. Twenty-seven outlets in the kitchen alone, on five separate breakers. In the bedrooms, one out of every pair of outlets on each plate was wired to the lightswitch by the door, so it was possible to turn the lights, stereo, tv, and lava lamp (I was a teenager) all at once when you walked into the room.

Unfortunately, the house was built on a floodplain, so the city ended up eminent domaining and demolishing it to build a empty lot park.

Some extra RAM memory often makes a huge difference for working with image files and the like, if you're working with windows and have less than 8Gb. installed another 4Gb would very likely make a pleasant difference for 20 or 30 £/$ from ebay, google the model of the computer to find the type of memory and how to fit it, it is usually easily do-able by a non tech person.
Even some chrome books and net books can have extra memory fitted now.

Listening to old Bowie and browsing around,
Spent the evening making my psycho bitch teenage MC sympathetic while she is planning to gratuitously murder a policeman, loving every minute of that.
She has 'issues' (fabulously meaningless word - as is 'disappointing' ) with the police because she's in the 'care' system and they don't care and aren't very nice to her.
SPOILER; she succeeds, gets away with it and remains everyone's favourite. she's actually doing everyone a favour
