The bombs were dropped at 31,060 feet. The closest I could get the image to was from 31,071 feet. The T-shaped Aioi Bridge (targeted ground zero) is roughly in the center of the image. Morbid is always what I'm going for.
A cesium atom at 0 degrees Kelvin vibrates between two ground states exactly 9,192,631,770 times per second. If the number is wrong, it's time itself that needs to be adjusted.
Speaking of funerals: Despite the pall being the cloth used to cover caskets, those carrying the coffin are called pallbearers.
Is it some reference to the shroud in ancient burials? Some kind of pallet reference? Aren't humans bizarre?
It could bear reference to those whose cultures do not use caskets or because to have one is a sign of wealth at one point, I don't know for sure. I came across Caleb Wilde, a funeral director and author/blogger, his stuff is pretty insightful (and typos don't feel so bad after reading about mistakes he's made along the way).
The worlds softest wood is generally thought to come from the Cuipo tree, which is technically classified as a hardwood, while the hardest comes from the Australian Buloke, a softwood.
