In lighter news, Dante has got to be one of the best Classical literature I've ever read outside college. I thought it would be hard to follow, but it really isn't. It really feels like Dante is right there with you, speaking to you on your level even with his flowery language.

Kudos to Michael Arnold for introducing him to me. I look forward to reading all of his works, and many more of the Classics.

I figured I would share this here instead of in the mental health thread, as it might be seen by more people. :superidea:

This is what it's really like to have ADHD:

I wish I could tell that to some of the stores around. They've already put up their Christmas displays.

A couple of years ago, I saw either Christmas pudding or mince pies in the supermarket in July!

I am desperately hoping that this year, they won't have the speakers set up through the high street in the town again playing shitty Christmas songs. I hated that last year.

I must have one of these. I think the message is a good one, too. Probably the first Kickstarter promotional video that doesn't irritate the tits off me.

Round here, they're introducing proof of identity driver's licences through a phone app and increasingly banks are telling folks to leave their cards in the safe and instead use their phones for payment. The danger of this device is that it will be restrictive and obsolete very quickly in a very fast moving world.

But that's the whole point. It's a revolt against the smartphone and their zombifying effects. Of course they're not going to sell like smartphones and very few people will actually make the switch (because they can't live without their smartphones) but as I say, that's the whole point.

I've reached the point in my life where 90% of what I want from social media is just cute animals. Someone posts an inspiring story or something heartbreaking and I'm like "Fine, I'll upvote/like to be nice" but someone posts a lazy pic of their dog without any work or particular reason and I'm like "That's gold, Jerry! Gold!'

Interesting dog you've got there, CT. Do you wake up with a sore derriere every morning and vague memories of being elsewhere overnight perchance?

To quote Paul: "Why does everyone always assume that? What am I doing? Am I harvesting farts? How much can I learn from an ass?" *
*I will double check this quote later today. ;)

ETA:Checked as per the uncut version, and yes, it's accurate.

Hmm, maybe in Galatians, but I'm pretty sure it's not from either of his letters to the Corinthians... :)

I suspect that you and I aren't on the same page politically, but I always get a laugh, so thank you for that :supercool:
