    Stuck because of a dress

Discussion in 'Plot Development' started by Dreamerwriter016, Oct 15, 2018.

So I am writing this book where one of the characters is quite superstitious and she finds dress that fits her body shape perfectly. (I have in mind that dress is a red V neck mermaid dress) I was going to describe in more detail how she saw herself in the dress but I am stuck. Anyone has any ideas or should I scrap the idea completely?

What are you stuck on, exactly? Is it how the dress looks, or how the dress makes her feel? If it's important to the story / her character, I wouldn't scrap it.

Yeah, go on with it. It sounds quirky. I like quirky.

First, write past it. I do that and come back to those sticky spots later.

Second, search Pinterest for "red V neck mermaid dress". You might be surprised at the results and you can refine the search from there. (You'll have to do it yourself, the forum software mucks up the link.)
