I loved animals, and in probably 3rd grade, I said I wanted to be a vet who “didn’t do the gross stuff” like surgery, but still helped the animals. At some point I was considering police officer. From 3rd grade to about half a year ago (I was in 9th grade then,) I wanted to be a gaming YouTuber. That must sound dumb, but I wanted the job for the community interaction. I still want to do that part-time, but around the time I started writing my WIP in April, I realized I wanted to be an author. I had another WIP that I had started in 2015 (6th or 7th grade) and abandoned in maybe 2016, only to take up again in probably 2017, and that was a book I really wanted to get published. I started to realize when I started it that I wanted to write, but it was a long time before it was solidified with me. In my school, we have a vocational counselor/teacher, and I’m talking with her about my writing.

A vet, an author, a dog groomer.

I’ve worked the same retail job for almost my entire working life (ok so that’s like 5-6 years but still).

I was a playful youth and unlike my classmates I never thought to my future. I just thought to the time that I lived in. The most of my classmates passed their university but I could receive just my high school degree. I just loved to be with my friends all the times and go to trip and picnic. I mostly thought romantically and dreamy. At the time I just wished to have a car or motorbike to travel everywhere day and night, but it didn't happen for many years.
After happening the Islamic revolution in Iran, I woke up a little and began studying in the various fields. About 12 years ago I bought a personal computer and tried to learn using it. Two years later I became familiar with internet and from 7 or 8 years ago I decided to learn English by myself, and now I am here.

If I want to say, in the youth season, what my dream about a favorable job in the future was, I can find this idea in my mind, being a truck driver LOL

Yes and no. Everyone kept telling me I could never make a good career out of writing so now I work in the hospital part time (as they suggested)
and do writing on the side but I don't have much time for it so I did not become the professional writer I always dreamed of but I do still enjoy writing and hope to publish one day.

I was looking through my old things one day and found STACKS and STACKS of books, diarys, papers and all kinds of things I wrote. I was homeschooled and had nothing but time on my hands but I couldn't beleive how much I wrote. No masterpieces. Silly little stuff that made me laugh but reminded me of how much I always loved it. :D

I did not become a professional interpreter but I did get an official certificate for it and I do interpret for patients in the hospital when they cannot speak English even though it's not my main job. I LOVE it. The only reason I dont persue it farther is because I am shy and have social axiety so it would become too stressful if I had to do it constantly.

Interesting. I love it when you find it from childhood. It gives you a different perspective on writing.
Which language do you interpret from? Are you a nurse?
Hope you dont mind me asking :)

I agree. Its amazing to look back and see how I use to think about things and
    view the world.
I do not mind yo asking at all. actually when someone hears that I work in the hospital EVERYONE asks am I a nurse haha.:supercheeky: But no I am a patient registrar. I register them when they come for service. I chose it because I figured it was a simple and fairly stress free job so I can focus mainly on writing but I still don't get enough writing time. There is just not enough hours in the day ugh.

I interpret Tamil,Hindi and Spanish. I hope to add Persian to that list. However, the majority are Hispanic and Brazilian patients so more Spanish than anything.

    1. Dead. (Being autistic was not a happy childhood where I grew up.)

    2. Author & screenwriter.

I am not sure witch was stronger hope.

And my hope to be dead was not any teenage wanna-be dream.

I have never accepted suicide. So I did not kill myself. But the level of my risk taking was quite near suicidal.

    Funnily enough, a fiction writer!

Up until I was about fourteen, then I started to move towards journalism. For the rest of school and college I still leant towards a journalism career, and particularly enjoyed film studies and media studies, as well as english language.

I wanted to be a journalist until I was eighteen, when I was in my first year of a journalism course. It was then that I (rather lately) realised I definitely did not want to be a journalist, and hated it. I swiftly changed degrees, and the rest is history!

I wanted to be an artist - except my idea of an artist at the time was really drawing a lot of pretty pictures. Ultimately, I wanted to be either a manga artist in Japan, or to work for Disney and draw for them :)

Then when I was 9 or 10 or so, I wanted to be published.

Currently, though not quite so young anymore, I want to be a businesswoman and run my own thing. Let's see how that goes huh?

    Who didn't?

When I was 4, before Guns N' Roses, I wanted to be John Connor, I turned 5 in late 1991.
And I wanted to have my own Terminator, in fact, it was that summer and that blockbuster that got me into Guns N' Roses and then wanting to be Axl Rose....

Woah. - It's all starting to make sense/I'm regressing...

I wanted to be John Connor, then I discovered Guns N' Roses and ran with that one song for two, maybe three maybe four years, and then discovered all the other Guns N' Roses songs by the age of 8 for sure.

I started writing stories when I turned 10. I understand now that they were fanfiction stories but I called them mine at the time.

I suppose I always wanted to be a writer. I was also into art, music and film when I was younger too. Anything that let me express ideas and feelings was interesting to me. Even now, I am such a hopeless dreamer that lives mostly in my own head.

I was a fucking weirdo as a child.

I feel like I was the only kid who didn't have career dreams.
Having said that, I think the closest I came was being really into the Gladiators tv show (Jet was my favourite). So I may have wanted to be one of them, or just be a contender. I remember pretending that the stairs in our house was a travelator...
