I'm going to take all my notes and turn them into chapters! Mon Jesucritu! Both my wrists hurt from clicking! Don't care! My precious lovies are so sweet! Gotta lotta redacting to do! I've lost my mind!
Man... I have written so much stuff that I have never written before... Police Chase, Storming a warehouse held by the enemy, a Mad Maxesque scene, My story is incoherent but damn if I am not enjoying myself in this crazy ride that explores as many tropes as possible. LOL. Blatantly pointing them out at times too. "It's always a warehouse!" Ghoul exclaimed, smirking at Max. "When it's not a hanger,"
I didn't get any words written last night, so I'm pulling a double today. 3,200 words at least. I think I'll do the first set of 1,600 this afternoon and another 1,600 tonight.
Yeah. I'm still at 9.6k and need to get to 15k! On the bright side, I just wrapped up Chapter 2. And I think it's going to be smoother sailing from this point on. I have another chapter, chapter 3, that takes place in the boonies. Then chapter 4 opens in outer space with a starship that finds herself heavily outnumbered. Hmm, though now that I think about it, does outer space count as the boonies? There definitely aren't very many people around.
We are in a race against time, the lives of millions on the lines... so of course we have time for a hospital visit... and visiting with some other friends before heading to our destination. The badguys can wait. LOL
Donuts, don't forget donuts! Muffins will do in a pinch. And everybody pee before getting in the car, so we don't have to stop on the way... Are you listening, Helshiro!
And now my wordcount is at 12,706. Today was my most productive day so far, at a little over 3,000 words. At this rate, I'm hoping to catch my average up this weekend. Or at least get close again. I'm happy to see that I'm now one fourth of the way to 50k. Just gotta do what I already did three more times, and with less procrastination. I'm moving steadily through chapter 3. Its focus is on a character who had a different gender, background, and personality than she did yesterday. And she wasn't as important to the story. But now she's the third POV character, out of four major ones planned. This story is growing in detail, which is good. I'm shooting for a final target count that's more marketable than 50k in my genre. Probably around a hundred. But I'm only going to hit 50k for NaNo, if I'm dedicated enough.
Yay! broke 10k, heh.. and in an ironic and sinister way... did it with a scene that blatantly calls itself padding, while mocking another staple of Police Drams... the Anger commissioner. . LOL
Man! I still find it amusing that I am writing a story with most of my major MC characters (from stories semi-complete rough or finalized rough)... as characters in it. There is a story reason for this that is pretty much hinted at (blatantly)
Yay! 12,051k. Great progress today, and the story is just gett'n crazier. Nothing like a shot out with trolls. LOL. (Uh.. .the fantasy kind, not internet... like me. LOL)
Mine's just lots of post-adolescent angst, costumes, dancing, zen philosophy, spiritual discovery, and lots of cuddly, lovey, squishy sex. Meh.
I am hovering at the 48k mark no plot is apparent as of yet, I really should have done some planning this year.
I changed the genre of my story... .I was original thinking it was fanfic to the apperance of some certain characters... but they are having a minimal part... so it's now fantasy. very Hi- Very-WTF is going on fantasy.
Hit 17,500. Only just got done with the set up and now I'm into the meat of the story. The going is feeling good!
Oh Man! this story is wonderfully crazy (at least for me).... did you guys know I have my own Super Hero team, SomeGuy knows some of them... but yeah... they appear in this story along with some other well known Main and secondary characters in my stories.
I didn't catch up this weekend like I was hoping to. But I did get closer, and am now at 16,457! On the upside, I got to go to a Brandon Sanderson singing, which lasted longer than I thought it would. But it was fun, and there was some good writing advice in there. Failure is good, it's how we get better, and it's what we structure our stories around. My NaNoWriMo username again, if anyone wants to add me: mattre Currently I'm wrapping up Chapter 4, which is titled Judge, Julee, and executioner after my main character. The events of this chapter are as ominous as they sound! And my characters are all still in the boonies. It's looking like that's going to be the case for about three more chapters at this rate, but it's all getting more interested. I've decided to turn up the heat on a few events, and that's turning out well. I think I'm doing a fairly good job of sticking to a basic framework of events while improvising fun stuff as the opportunity arises. I just need to make sure to keep my work count cranking throughout the work week.
Just passed 10,300. Not being too diligent on this, but at least I'm writing. It helps to let things stew. EDIT: 10,840. I have more in my head, but I've spent a lazy, cold day working on various things on the laptop in bed, and I have to get ready to go to my evening job, rot it. EDIT: Okay, 11,294. Now I really gotta get going.
Made no progress yesterday so I'm, again, pulling a double shift for today. Already wrote another 1,400 words this morning so I'll have another 1,800 tonight. I can afford to fall behind and I still need to make more headway before Thanksgiving eats up some of my time for travel and family festivities.
Back up to the word count I need (550 words over, actually). I also just finished my 4th chapter, which I'm feeling pretty good about. At 20,550 words!
