I'm happy now because my sister is visiting me from Toronto over the weekend. She gets to see my new house. My kitchen is making her swoon. I have a very swoon-inducing kitchen. If you want to swoon, I have just the kitchen for you. Chefs who have seen my kitchen have wept to death, knowing that there will never be a better one on this plane of existence. This kitchen brings a touch of magic to anything done in it. Food prepared in my kitchen cures most diseases. The rest of the house is nice, too.
I'm happy because I'm visiting my family over the weekend, my grandparents are here, I have missed my cat, and I travelled alone for the first time yesterday.
I'm so very pleased for you @EstherMayRose ...! Seeing and spending time with family is always a pleasure, especially when you haven't seen them for a while. Did you drive or travel by train? I remember the first time I drove alone, super spooky but you soon get used to it! Enjoy seeing your family!
Good idea, one thing at a time, you don't want to put too much pressure on yourself. When I learnt to drive it was awful the first time, I was learning with my dad and hit our driveway gate...! The gate was always open but this time it was closed, I was so embarassed and my dad was furious. I learnt that day to never just assume that the gate will always be open Good luck with Uni.
Through all bad things that's going on I'm still so happy that I've got someone I just keep falling in love with every day. Even after ten months I get butterflies every time we're getting on Skype! Lost just booked his tickets for Christmas and I can't wait to get him here in just over a month
Got my grade back for a late essay I turned in last week: 100%. Probably not great for me since it's like a reward for waiting until the absolute last minute to write an essay (I finished writing it 15 minutes before the late due-date), but it's still a nice surprise.
I thought the first rule of Uni was don't drink anything that's bright green* , and the second was that your best mates girl is off limits however many bright green drinks you've had (Kiwi and lime MD 20/20, evil stuff*)
Just realized that 8 years and 3 days ago, I posted the first chapter of the fanfic that started my writing career. At the time I just hoped people wouldn’t hate it, but the feedback was wonderful! I could have never guessed how many friends and adventures it would bring me, nor could I have imagined that it would lead me on a whole new journey as a successful author of original Romance fiction. Happy writing milestone celebration to me!
Very happy that I've never been on the fly-somewhere-for-the-holidays treadmill. Can't imagine fighting those crowds year after year.
Back before I taught uni I used to fly back to America for Thanksgiving every year. It's not a Japanese holiday, so the tickets were dirt cheap and I could see the whole extended family in one go. Were I living in the states though? Hell no.
FINALLY I sorted the chapter in my novel that was giving me gyp. It's funny. After a couple of years (yep) of pondering it and trying to rewrite it and rejig the story and expand the story and contract the story ...I woke up this morning, went straight to my computer, and fixed the damn thing! The solution was uncomplicated and was in front of me all the time. I just didn't see it, till this morning. Now it's finish my final formatting edit, and it's done. Wonder of wonders.... It's not Thanksgiving where I am, but I'm feeling it.
LeeLee's surgery and recuperation went off without a hitch. I played nurse the whole time, and I'm sure she was dying for me to just leave her be, but her scar is now fully healed and clean.
