Woman in uniform (police, military, etc. ) and house husband? I know this is most likely a thing, I'm just trying to add to the discussion.

Weirdly enough I don't really ask people out. We usually just end up hanging out until we both agree we're dating. One girl used to get brought by her boyfriend to a lot of parties where he and I were the only people she knew, and since he was generally off socializing she usually came to talk to me. One night he got pissy and left without her, so I gave her a couch to crash on and at that point we somehow became a couple in spite of the fact that we hadn't done anything other than meet randomly and be friends.

Yeah, there's some creepy characters that actually get the gil.
The cam guy of the plastic bags in American Beauty.
The shy 6ft tall guy in Frankestein's Bride.
    Some more...IDK.

In Dr No, Bond means a lady at a casino. She later let's herself into his room while he's out and removes most of her clothes to wait for him.

It's hard to see that as being anything but creepy if the sexes were reversed.

But that's what I don't understand about the thread. It would be compelling. I try not to write too many stories about jumping the train to work, answering a series of e-mails, enjoying my sandwich and later a meeting and a return journey that was slightly delayed. Didn't bother me so much I had the whole weekend to look forward to with my children and the fancy party on Saturday. Such a long bath on Sunday and some movies and then I ate the dog. Chapter 2 Catching all the hounds in my happy wagon

Was she wearing some sort of skimpy, sexy lingerie? Because that's what always makes it okay:

Yes, absolutely. Jayna is the exotic predator I started off with above. My MC is Daniel, who just wants a normal life and family, but may never have, because of his particular problem. The three felines of the theme above, Jessie, Pam, and Leah, are the first loves of his life, and his first lovers. He loses them, tragically. The last love of his life is Evy, a very unusual woman, from a very unusual culture, who leads him to a very unusual destiny.

I can definitely sympathize here. My current novel project is superhero/fantasy story with an eye towards examining some of the genre's tropes, and one of those was the whole "Dating Catwoman" thing. A hero becoming romantically involved with a villain or otherwise morally murky character.

Since I couldn't recall ever seeing a female hero/male villain pairing, I decided to try one out. One of my POV characters--Augur, an ex-slave blacksmith operating a a street level vigilante--ends up with a major side character--a professional thief known as Goldenback--for a little over an eighth of the book.

As soon as Goldenback put in his first appearance, it became obvious the whole thing would require a delicate touch. The very heavy, forward flirting, the manipulations, the betrayals, etc. that a character like Catwoman could get away with come across in a rather different light when it's a man taking those actions.

I think that subplot being something of a deconstruction--dealing with realistic consequences of that sort of relationship--made things easier, but their moments were easily the hardest bits of writing in every draft of this book so far.

I've done this to another guy before and it worked out fine, so I'm inclined to think it's women that are the problem in this scenario.

What options do we have here? 'Come on @Dapper, snuggle up I'll have that sorted in two shakes of a lamb's tail. So sweet the way you butchered the janitor and kicked in the door, my fluffy.'

In a pinch, the blood of the plebs can be used in lieu of sexy lingerie.

I'm still composing the dweeb lying in the woman's bed story.

WF FORUM VERSION - 'Tazar tazar tazar, I'm calling my brother, 911.'

But I like to think there might be a slant, an angle to be exploited...

I watched some of the spin off.... but Angel stopped being the villain.... he became more of an anti hero/reluctant hero

Um....this is my life. I am a corrections officer and my husband stays at home with the kids. So yeah, totally a thing.

As for tropes....kidnapped prince needs to be rescued by badass princess? (That sounds interesting to me! Would totally read.)

    There you go!

Also sounds good, but why a princess. Why not a common girl, who fights against the odds and shows and arrogant stubborn Prince that the common folk are people too. Or what if she gets there, finds that he's a prick and sides with the bad guys, LOL

The closest thing I have to do this, is an empress who's escapes on her own. Since day one she planned it, biding her time. And since her captors don't speak her language, she's able to do some one-liners as well
